oneshot Posted June 21, 2021 Posted June 21, 2021 Some can’t pass Drug Tests. Meth use to be bad around here. But some places around here don’t give Drug Tests but that is for Summer work. I have to take Drug Test saying I am taking my Pain Medication. I take Blood Thinners because of Blood Clots which knocks me out of several medications. oneshot
MoCarp Posted June 21, 2021 Posted June 21, 2021 For a decade or so I ran my own advertising agency. 95% of my clients ran employment ads. we are in a unique time 1st the lock down forced some not to work, some were paid 250 +300 extra for a totalof $550 that’s $13.75 to not do anything...most jobs in our area paid 10-12...the extra benefits ran out in June...several outside things have happened...retired age people learned not working was easy if you went without a few things and they dropped out of the Job market...others like stay at home parents forced to home school their kids found out it was better for them and their kids, many cases they dropped out of the job market... in blue states NY city and LA for example people worked from home via many apps like zoom etc, with fast internet and better bandwidth now a reality, made not having to come to an office viable...no cost for office space in the big city and this added millions to the companies bottom line...it also allowed that blue state company to hire from anywhere including SW Missouri....so instead of hiring a customer service or sales rep for 100k you can get them all day for 40k here.... east/west coast public education isn’t what it one was ( just look at AOC Boston College grad 🤣😂🤣😂🤣) anyone 35 and younger from those areas suffer from indoctrination school not education school....better trained out of the box employees for less than half price..... if you are looking for help in our area the don’t let the door hit you in the posterior mentality of many employers is coming back to haunt them and 20 an hour is the starting point...better folks will be more...our area is getting a jerk kicking and screaming into the new reality...others like NY city and other blue state hubs will and are crashing. The exodus of people from there to places like Branson or Springfield will continue, violence poor government policies and the jobs leaving. ..the funny thing is people were worried our area would get liberalized so to speak...but those that move here find out quickly those type policies get rejected by the 80+ percent of conservatives here...and many that do move here no longer have to agree with leftest agenda to fit it or keep jobs and social standing....it’s interesting how this reset will play out. MONKEYS? what monkeys?
Devan S. Posted June 21, 2021 Posted June 21, 2021 I think its funny that large corp. like Walmart and McDonalds and other chain restaurants are struggling to find people. Companies that profit hundreds of millions(if not Billions) pay out hundreds of millions if not billions to shareholders yet in turn they offer $300 sign on bonus for a $10/hr job at 24-36 hrs a week. What a joke. snagged in outlet 3, nomolites, MOstreamer and 5 others 7 1

Owner/operator truckers got the small biz money too. It was better to sit it out then actually run the truck.... Now we can't get trucks. Last week it was 86 confirmed loads per available flatbed I think. Or very close to that. We used to pay roughly $2.50 per mile (depending on location of course) and now those routes are $5 and you may have to wait a while to get it covered. And if it's going to Montana or Wyoming were there is nothing to bring back out you may not get a truck at all.

What a joke. Walmart there starts out $17.50 an hour, 10% discount. After 90 days you get Health Insurance, 401 K, and paid Sick days. Right now be honest with them and they let some things slide. My Son works Part Time for UPS just for the Benefits. Know couple guys that turned down Job offer from A G because it involved work. I hated hauling there because I was forced to use them to unload my Truck. oneshot

I drove company Truck and would get POed if Dispatch couldn't find me a load. Was in Dallas one time they was holding a load for me because I was complaining. Me and Dispatch was always arguing. This was back when Speed Limit was 55. She had me driving 1,000 miles a day. Called her up told her things were going to have to change. Why? Told her get her Map figure how many miles she was giving me a day. I would call her back in a half hour. I called back and she was crying, told me if she did it again tell her. But one time I unloaded in New York, I said well there is only one place to get a Load, I went on over there. Told her I was already there. Oh don't do that. LOL This was back before Cell Phones and GPS and Electronic Logs, can't run two Log Books with them. oneshot MoCarp 1

They wont have any problem passing on cost increases too. Profit must increase at all costs. Daryk Campbell Sr and MoCarp 2

What a joke. Isn't it? If you need to clear $300/week to cover rent, utilities, groceries, gas, car payment, healthcare, childcare- that's what you need. No one needs to compromise their financial stability so Walmart and McDonald's can make an easy buck. No one owes them that. I think a lot of folks grew up watching Walmart gut business districts and still think Wally World's the only game in town. But if they have an internet connection, folks can work remote as a data entry technician for $12-$25/hr. They can make $20/hr or more with Uber or DoorDash or Instacart. Set their own schedule- work when they want, for how long they want, make as much as they want. Laziness has nothing to do with it, they're not applying to Walmart for the same reasons as you. It's not worth their time. Every hour spent there is an hour they could've made more somewhere else. I have a friend undergoing chemo. Can't get the vaccine. Can't go back to work safely until we've reached herd immunity. Complaining on the internet isn't going to get him back in the workforce, but getting vaccinated will. If you haven't been vaccinated, and you're complaining folks like him won't stock your shelves or flip your burgers- these are the consequences of choices you've made.
