Old 86

Just curious if you can launch at Old 86. Thank you.

I was down there last weekend and the launch was closed. But you can call them and ask 417-779-5376

Thank you. I called and only the ones camping there can launch as they can park their trailer at their campsite.

From what I'm hearing from the guys guiding out here you probably don't want to launch there anyway.  5 or 6 K's on a crawler in 4 hrs. Is a trip to write home about. 

I'd rather weed the garden than fish out here by the Lodge.

Went out last Saturday morning from 630-10 and skunked on a jig and topwater around 86. Went back out at night time in Beardsley from 8-11 and caught a keep LM and SM on the Nutech jig. Bite was tough but ill be back down with my brother for the 4th to give it another go.

Yep - if you want to catch fish - go to Beardsley. Loaded in there.

Yep, Beardsley, AKA The Land of Giants.  Aunts Creek is a good backup spot in the extremely unlikely possibility that they aren't on fire in Beardsley.

but the Big M area is where you really need to go for numbers and HUGE bass.

Stay away from the James, Its to dangerous with all the spoonbill flying out of the water.  Those things are jumping like crazy
