I like and was recommended a S and W Airweight by a buddy of mine who is a detective in north county.  Most carried gun by off duty Leo’s I believe.  Most self defense situations never need more than a couple shots.

I just happen to know two people who carry those and one has pink aftermarket grips that were given to her.

If anyone remembers what you are taught in your conceal carry class and I recommend taking it.  You are only using in self defense. Not for offense. The deal is going to up close and personal. It will be their life or yours. Be quick and shoot where you were taught. I hope we will never have to use it. You are taught also to be aware of your surroundings in daily life and always have a place to get away from any situation so never have to use it.

Good advice.  I like shooting pistols for fun, but I don't see myself shooting someone.  So far in life I have made it without being in a situation where I had to shoot someone.

Yeah it's a tough one.  If you are packing heat you can't just bust some douchebag, that ISN'T carrying, in the face.

A customer of mine (carries all the time) was leaving a restaurant/bar and a drunk guy grabbed his girlfriends arm trying to get her to dance with him.   When she pulled away the idiot grabbed her boob and then shoved his hand in her crotch.   Instinctually my buddy blasted him across his face, the drunk wrestled him to the ground and the gun fell out.  A bystander grabbed it and held them both at gunpoint until the cops got there.    Once the law arrived the only thing that mattered was WHOSE GUN IT WAS.

Cost him over 10k in lawyer fees, and last I heard he still hadn't gotten the gun back.      The drunk didn't get in any trouble at all because nobody but my buddy and his girlfriend could confirm that he grabbed her inappropriately.

He would have been way better off had he not had that pea shooter in his pants.

I get it and we were taught that. Do not get yourself in a jam to begin with. Be smart. Do we carry all the time ? No heck no but we do sometimes. I trust a snake or a wild animal more than some people. Animals are just trying to survive. Humans in some forms are pain in the rear. We have a mental problem bad now. Not going to discuss what I think about that and please do not start that debate because it will go south fast.

Those are nice as well.  I’m usually toting a Kimber which only packs one more, but if I’m heading to the Wild West I have other more flexible options to as well.

This time of year, its normally my .380 S&W Bodyguard.  Boats usually have a 9 or 40 nearby also.

I have an Airweight I carry on the farm or a 22 for slick critters.  City carry is usually a S&W Shield in 9 or 45.  Winter carry is normally one of the Shields or the Airweight.  They all pack well and shoot good.

Practice with all and able to shoot them well.  Never hope to use them, but, they are there if I need them.

How not to use a pistol.  The story goes on to say that the person that was shot, was shot in the leg and will survive.

KENOSHA, Wis. (NEXSTAR) – A Wisconsin woman accidentally shot a friend while using the laser sight on a handgun to play with a cat, authorities said.

A criminal complaint charging the 19-year-old woman with negligent use of a weapon said she was visiting a Kenosha apartment on Tuesday afternoon where a 21-year-old man had brought a handgun.

The woman, who a witness said had been drinking, picked up the handgun, “turned on the laser sight and was pointing it at the floor to get the cat to chase it,” when the gun went off, the complaint filed Thursday said.
