dpitt
Nice looking page, easy to read. You've talked about removing hooks in the past, this could be helpful.. i.e. gut hooked, indicate there may be times to leave it in? Thanks, David Phil Lilley and laker67
netboy
Best (and easiest) thing MDC could do is require barbless hooks in the special regulation area like they do here in Arkansas in the C&R areas. I have been checked by the Game Wardens in C&R areas multiple times and that is the first thing they want to look at. I see lots of nice trout with big scars from folks ripping out a jerkbait with 2 or 3 treble barbed hooks. laker67, nomolites and dpitt
fshndoug
That is a very nice piece on fish handling. I might suggest you specifically remind people not to drag fish up onto the bank to land, take pictures, remove hooks and then kick them back into the water. I see it everyday up in the trophy area. Thanks Phil ,great job as always. MOstreamer, laker67, trythisonemv and 2 others 3

Terrierman
Phil it's a great topic that is very timely. I was down today and honestly I saw more dead trout than I did people catching. And big ones, ten or so in the Point Lookout hole. Talked to a couple of guys from Arkansas who told me about snagging what they estimated to be a five pound fish that was obviously on his last legs. Tough time of year for the fish. trythisonemv

fshndoug
Just saw a post today of a guide showing his clients holding trout with a boga grip in the trophy area. What an example they are setting. Ryan Miloshewski, snagged in outlet 3, Terrierman and 1 other 3

Here’s a few guides you can hire to kill some fish and then “release” them. https://bransonguidedfishingtrips.com/lake-taneycomo/ https://www.johnsappington.com/photos.html https://captainbguide.com/reviews-1 trythisonemv, fshndoug and Ryan Miloshewski 2
