Bo James Memorial Tournament recap

It was a great day weather wise, a touch nippy early and then it became breezy with temps warming into the 60's.  Lots of boats out on the lake, mostly fishermen but there was some recreational traffic.

Chris (Cheesemaster) scored a knockout, or pitched a shutout as no one else weighed anything in amongst the 6 competitors.  Chris had a total 3 fish bag of 5.95 lbs., biggest was a 2.3 smallmouth.  Jerk bait got them.

We raised $140 to send to the Cassville High fishing team (I will get the check in the mail today).  If we get a thank you letter in return I will pass it on to everyone.

Phil will send the plaque inserts to Chris once they are engraved.

It was fun - great to see and visit with those that were there. I hope more people can make it next year. If not - it might not be a annual event.

Nice.  We caught one large mouth on a silver squarebill.  Next year, mebbe come hang with y'all

@magicwormman and I caught over 20 fish but they all had that fish-eye disease. In other words their eyes were too close to their tail. 😂

I was impressed with spoony’s ability to locate and work deep brush piles and maintain good boat positioning while we fished them. That’s an art. Also we were able to use his electronics to determine quickly which ones were even worth messing with.

 I’m usually a shallow water guy but we caught several deep fish (up to 30 feet or so) on jigs and drop shot worms. I finally got to meet a few guys on the forum and put a face with a name, which was nice! Congratulations @cheesemaster!!

It was nice meeting everyone. Finally put some faces with names. I think in the 9 years ive been on this forum i had only met 2 or 3 people until this. Congrats on the win Cheese, you earned it was a tough day for sure

Don't count on it.   They are up to their ears in warranty negotiations.   

Gonna be interesting to see how they bail theirselves out of this one.  Especially with all those ships stuck off the coast.
