Basspro Open

Championship is Nov. 19-21.  350 teams.  Winning team walks away with $1 million plus a Tundra and a boat.  Saw something about it being live on NBC, but don't know exactly what that means.

Buddy of mine ran into someone on the lake yesterday that was from Kentucky and was here to practice.

350?!  Holy smoke.

Oh yeah, these bass derby guys are heavier into stimulating economys than any other group I'm aware of.

3/4 of the kids in my 12 y/o's class claim that their daddy is a bigtime professional fisherman.

Ya know....the ones that spend one weekend a month with him. 🙄

When my neighbor moved in he told everyone he was a pro bass fisherman.  I hadn't met him and we like "COOL!".  I gotta meet this guy.  I've never talked to a bass pro.  He has a place at LOZ and fishes the wednesday night deal.  He's a good guy and wins occasionally but hardly a "Pro".  He sells bearings a japanese company around the midwest.  So in my mind he is a pro bearing salesman....

For gosh sakes, they are gonna keep on bringing in these regional and national events until they beat this lake into nothing but a swimming pool. And who is this one backed by? Good ol' Johnny ... you know, forever doing something to help the sport. More like helping add to his empire at the expense of our lake.

Maybe I should just shut the heck up and join the party. I think I have a pretty good start on a jersey design. This is the back view, which is the most important because that's where your NAME goes in big all-cap letters like anyone freakin cares who you are.

That's assuming they all show, one of the qualifying tourneys was out west, I have to wonder how many of them will pull their boat out here for this.

I order drop shot weights from an outfit in AZ. (Southwest custom tackle).  I placed an order a couple days ago and the owner asked if I had any info on TR cause he had a couple buddies coming up to fish this tourney.  I told him about this forum since I don't fish TR much.  Seems like people are coming from all over.  I'm fine with them pouring money into the local economy and getting to experience the Ozarks.
