I think it’s because the metro area’s if KC and STL make up a large portion of the Missouri tax base.  More than half I think.
So start paying your fair share of just pipe down😁

Well then pump up some groundwater and make them some freakin' trout streams then.  How hard could it be?   You ever been to Big Surf water park?   There ya go!

If you truly value their dollars then give them something more "Theodore Gordon" than a truckload of hatchery trout thrown into a bullhead pond.

No kidding?   They stocked Brown trout AND Rainbows in those ponds?

If so then I have yet another reason to dislike their method of operation.

I catch Browns in every urban lake I have fished and I have caught multiple, multiple lunkers out of every lake I have fished that the MDC stocked for the ghetto trout program. It’s one of the dumbest things I have ever seen but, because I used to be a fly guy and still have plenty of long rods I go over and catch my share for a few days and don’t go back until the next Fall, it is embarrassing and about as gay as it gets as far as fishing goes.I try not to take pics as it is embarrassing as hell but, there is most definitely Browns in the ponds and big trout as well lol

Hey, the MDC understands they gotta feed the bullheads SOMETHING in these sterile, spring-fed ponds.  Trout must make good bullhead food? :secret-laugh:

What's a guy to do?  I can drive 10 minutes, or I can drive over 3.5 hours each way to catch trout from the same hatchery. 😜  Fishing beautiful bluff-lined, gravel-bottomed, clear-water streams is always preferred...it just isn't always in the cards for the limited time I have to fish.

I haven't seen any brown trout up here yet.  I heard they stocked some a couple years back to celebrate the anniversary of the program....but I think it was a one-time thing?

I haven't kept any.

NICE!  I've only fished the pond closest to home...it must not be any of the ponds you've fished!  I haven't been too excited to fish for the trout this year...but I have done it.  I've gotta give the goldfish and koi a break sometimes. 😁

Is it any more pathetic than a FF snob decked out in the best Orvis/LL Bean gear, with his artisanal wooden rod and basket, and getting his elevated nostrils sunburnt?

Not IMO, either way it's about people enjoying the act of fishing, regardless of the style, time, or place.

I can't dance like I used to.

Let's say the FF'er has about $3k wrapped in gear.  All high end stuff.  Let's also look at a bass fisherman wearing a jersey (he's not a pro) and he has over $60K wrapped in boat and gear.  What does that make the bass fisherman?  20 times the order of magnitude snob??  Super supreme snob??
