It’s just crazy how weather has turned into these big catastrophic events.

Never "catastrophic" if you look at the real data and don't look for the opinions.

NWS.gov is the only weather forecast I look at, and a radar image.  Lots of moisture and stuff coming from down south.  We are looking at .2 of ice, then lots of sleet which weighs a ton.  I have seen it pancake pole barns at 6 to 8 inches.  Makes driving a pain.

Both Il and Mo have activated the National Guard now in prep for the incoming disaster.

Yep.  NWS and my radar app.

In Feb. 1995 I stood in the kitchen of my lakefront home and watched as one dock after another either flipped upside down from the snow loading up on one side of the roof, or just collapsed into a pile of twisted metal, boats, and PWC's.

My old wooden/blue foam POS dock squatted, popped, and groaned.....but she never did go down. 😁👍

We got 15" in 36 hours during that snowpocolypse.

Speaking of foul weather, did you hear that the groundhog died ?

Can't decide if that's a good sign, or the worst possible sign. 🤔

If I knew him, I'd say to him:  "C'mon dude, you're supposed to FORECAST".

You must be watching Lyin Ron on KY3..... I ask him a few years back what "a chance of " meant?  He told me he does not like to give percentages I told him to get one of those weather rocks, if it's wet its raining.... End of conversation.  Shoot all my friends know that my bad ankle is better than he is.

I can recall that one well fw. Arrowhead "marine max" lost either 17 or 19 in one pop. I made a lot of money re-piping the water and pump out stations for them and others around the lake.

We have just a light skiff of ice here.  Snow will come but that's OK.  At least as far as knocking down trees and power lines.  Usually.
