AR Rifle?

I’ve never shot a full auto but I have developed loads for a variety of rifles of different calibers.  I have shot thousands of rounds from a bench rest and don’t remember 2 in the same hole from any of them, even the ones that would shoot sub minute groups.  Guys at the club couldn’t do it with rail guns.

Unless you pay for the stamp, full auto is illegal.  Bump stocks are gone and a waste of ammo.

Back to the AR.  Excellent rifle for a disabled shooter.  Soft gas action, accurate, and the pistol grip/adjustable stock adapts to all shooters.  My Daughter and Grandson have used 300 Blackouts that I have built to take deer with success.  One shot kills, equal to a 30-30 Winchester to power and range performance.  5.56 is good for varmits, weak for deer in my opinion.  I have build 3 in the new 350 Legend and like the accuracy.  Long range shooter is a 6.5 Grendel, better performance in the 3-400 yd range.

Since the last surgery tweaked the nerve running across the front of the right shoulder, I have been recoil sensitive.  The pulse of the AR does not seem to affect my accuracy like touching off my 30.06 bolt rifle.  I have some pistols built also with braces to support my weak right arm.

I'd challenge anyone to produce a halfway decent 5 shot group from a full auto.  Even from a benchrest.

I've fired thousands of rounds in full auto.  M-16, M-60 (.308), Browning .30 cal,(.30-06) Browning MA2,(.50 cal BMG)  Thompson (.45ACP)

Effective full auto fire requires a belt fed mounted gun with tracers every five rounds.  Even low powered full auto in a heavy shoulder fired weapon (11 lb Thompson in .45ACP) is very difficult to control.  M-16 is no better in full auto.

Now give me a mounted gun with tracers and you don't want to be a target anywhere inside 1,000 yards, maybe twice that with a .50.

If you're looking for something to hunt with go with 300BO as JD said.  My daughter built hers and set it up with a 1x8 scope and it kills em dead.  You can run a shorter barrel without impacting velocity and run both super and subs if you ever want to run a suppressor which 300BO was built for. I have a 7.5in blackout suppressed and setup for night time under NV.  We can shoot the pigs without waking anybody up.

I've shot deer with 5.56 and it will kill them just the same, but 300BO has more and bigger bullet options.

Everyone should own an AR or 3... they are like legos for big kids.

To me they are just easier to customize.

Anymore shooting I have to rest the Forearm on something because I can’t get my Left arm up.

I have several rifles sighted in for Deer some I have not taken a Deer with but I’m sure they will work.

I was thinking.308 or 6.5.

The Full Auto like I say it was just to see how hard it was to convert. Decided I didn’t like it and changed it back. This was back 30 years ago.

.22 Semi Auto. It was easy just wanted to see if I could. Not even sure if it was my Rifle.

Can’t remember which prison it was but Guards had Full Auto .22 with Laser Sight. Pretty cool.

My wife has Laser Sight on her Pistol. I’m not impressed.
