Amazing, I don't see how you or they avoid the  barely submerged trees and boulders, brand new bars etc. I'd have thought most rivers have a new set of hazards after every rain, but, I have no experience on bigger rivers. If wading puts me in the path of a 50+mph boat I guess I don't want to.

This is on the Gasconade, Osage and parts of the Meramec where there is more water. This isn't something you'd see on what I'd call a "wading" stream.

Anyone that takes a kayak out on the main lake around Kimberling City is either dumber or braver than me. Maybe both. That area gets tough to navigate in a full size boat.

Nailed it.

Do you guys run 50mph on the rivers?

Mine does 18-20, Buddies 60/40 runs 30-35.  Plenty fast for running skinny.

I have seen many that make us look like we are sitting still.  Special Built 300 hp outboards and Scorpions probably hit 50.  I have not been to the boat races in Doniphan, but there are hi power boats that show up to run.  That part of the Current River has no horsepower limits.  And, much like Lake of the Ozarks, people die on the river each summer.

There were a lot of them out in Baxter today. With the chop and the wind, they were very hard to see.

Saw one get a Royal butt chewing when he went between the bank and some guys that were fishing down the stretch. Yaker should have gone around as he crossed a main creek channel and came right In front of where they were fishing.

Don’t need a 300HP To be rude.

I have had many yakers go between me and the bank while fishing. And I mean when I am on the bank. I always make a point to cast towards them and when they become indignant that I either hit them or their boat I just say I didn't see them like they didn't see me.

Does it say something in the Rules of the Road about paddle craft yielding to fishermen casting or is that just a fisherman's wish?

I prefish in my boat. LoL...I will save that paddling for tourney day. I hit a few spots yesterday off the main lake on the lower end that should be protected from the south wind tomorrow. I hope to get a limit very early and maybe not have to fish all day in that mess.

I think you get quite a few folks fishing out of yaks that never bass fished out of a boat. You would think that it is common knowledge and common courtesy to go around anyone whether they be in a boat or on shore, but that is assuming a lot.

Seems it.
