I’m not up on current financing, but if things haven’t changed much you’d probably be surprised at how easy it is to get long term loans on that stuff.  Of course the interest runs in the 20s and the term is longer than the life of a tournament boat but lots of those guys only want to know how much is the payment.  Oh and can I get the sales tax financed.

In 6 -12 months if the upcoming recession results in major layoffs there may be lots of boats and cars on the market cheap.

Leaving now to go fishing, these morning threads have me concerned regarding ramp parking.  I do have a new secret place that seems to get little traffic.

I hope some clear out by afternoon.  We want to see our daughter’s dock remodel project in Mill Creek.  It’s a lot easier and closer by water than by land.

When I lived in Washington state a good friend of mine lived by the if you can make the payment, buy it philosophy.  Couple of mortgages on the house too.  They had lots of toys but were living on the edge.  Then one day he got divorced, neither one could make the payments by themselves on anything (including the house), so they lost everything.

Took a good buddy this morning. He owns an architectural firm in Wichita kS.  

They have 30 architects, 20 draftsman and 25 support staff.  They work a 4 day 36 hour week. 

With a BA/BS they are starting at $80,000 with his firm.   Plus an MBA, they are Starting at $100,00.00. 

He said in 2015 they started at 40 and 60 thousand. 

Our son started at $90,000 with his Chemical Engineering degree 15 years ago. 

There is a lot of money out there. Just hard to believe that 100’s of thousands go for toys.

Dutch you know I'm up to speed on these things.  There is a TON of debt out there and all of these people that were buying these toys the last 2-3 years are literally buried in them.  You guys see $200,000.  I see $2000-2500 a month in payments and insurance.  We aren't far off from a good rate on a car or truck being 8% like 2007-2008.  There will be deals to be had on these toys once the banks repo them.

Today around flat and Bridgeport was probably the busiest i have ever seen it, and it was all fishing boats.  Had a guy in a new Nitro pass me on my  starboard side less than 40ft from me, and on the other side of him was a pontoon he had to be less than 50 ft from, just threaded the needle.   Fishing a brush pile today and im a ways off of it casting at it and a guy pulls up outboard running and drives almost over the top of it , he asked how the fishing was and told me i was on the best brush pile in the lake.  I just told him he can have it now.

And you were out there on a Friday.  Today will be interesting.  

I fished for a few hours over here in Bella Vista, at least 8 boats on the small lake by the time I left.

A little af6 and man the boats are a buzzing...makes me think I am fishing in the wrong spot as they are all running by where I am at!!

He could have went in back of me easy as there was 500 yards of water. I struggle mightily at times with this "live and let live" concept ... some of those chuckleheads just need their butt kicked. Might not do any good in the long run but at least then you'd have the satisfaction of knowing you did your part to educate them. 😆😄
