Crazy but it happens more than we really know. I wonder for all that get caught just how many people no matter what ethnicity get away with things like this? Thanks for posting @fishinwrench.  For all the fines paid combined they would have had quite the feast under that shelter if they had bought groceries instead of being clueless of the laws.

Most of them never actually pay the fines.

The video said that all seven did plead guilty and paid fines, so it would appear that most do pay the fines. I think the alternative is jail.

As punishments go though the whole idea that assigning points to a fishing or hunting permit that doesn't exist or preventing persons from buying permits for a year, or for five years, is deterrent for people that never had the permit and have no plans of getting the permit is silly. If a person ignores the law and gets caught, that person will ignore the law next time too. Just like a couple guys I've known that drove for decades without a drivers license after not being allowed to get one. Six out seven of these guys had no permits nor any plans to get one in future, so those two punishments were wasted on them. I don't think that I have been asked for a fishing permit in the last fifteen years, and I'm sure many have never been asked for one, so yeah,  suspension of a permit that  they never had must really hurt.

I was impressed by how cooperative this bunch was, seven  hill folk would probably have given one agent a lot more problems. Appeared to be sober too. Carrying no weapons, another thing that would be unusual with American poachers. Made the video seem scripted and performed.

By God, someone get on the phone with Tom Homan!  Gregg Bovino and 5000 agents, fully masked of course, should descend on Steeleville and start smacking some people around.  This video looks like it was shot in mid-summer, but I don't care.  Maybe there is still footprints on other gravel bars nearby.  There could still be many of those illegal criminals hiding in the bushes along the creekbanks.  The Dow may be at 50,000, but we have a major problem here.
