Got out for 6 hours Friday, starting at 11 a.m. Lower part of the White. Ned and spinnerbait did the bulk of the damage. Ended the day with 24 and 8 keepers. Best five 16 pounds.

Had an eagle fly water level 50 yards from the boat, finally heard a gobbler sound off about 1 p.m. and made another feathered friend (below) with whom I shared a granola bar. He actually took some of it from my hand.

Gorgeous day to be out.

Nice!  I'm pretty sure that that's Kathy's pet duck.  If so, his name is "Duck".

If you hold food in your hand and call him by name he will usually come right up to the boat.

That's how you can tell if it's her duck or not.

At least that's what she told me.

He travels around to different parts of the lake a lot too.

Actually kind of amazing that he can be in so many places but he is.

Champ, sound like it was a Mutual of Omaha kind of day. For those not old enough to know it was Wild Kingdom. Eagles, turkeys, ducks and fish, oh my!! The water color looks real good too. Nice healthy looking fish.

You guys are right about Wild Kingdom...especially since we live in the state of the company that sponsored the show! .....our family would turn that on and us kids would sit wand watch it in awe......then the next day we would play outside with the "animals" cant tell you how many snakes we picked up / picked on and scared other people with...especially Sister / Mom....from small lawn ones to bull snakes.

BTW I am green with envy that you were able to get out and get some fishing action.....looks like a good day for sure :)

BTW Duck looks like the same one that I fed last November in the cove by the chalet! He had a girlfriend with him then. He was fairly persistant that I share my sandwich.

From the looks of that background in the picture I'd say that's my spot! Lol, I see you got your motor fixed, hopefully it didn't cost a arm and a leg. Heading down this afternoon for a couple days myself.

Great day I would say!  Watch out for that duck fellas, Champ is  training him to guard his secret spots.

You'll know you're approaching one of my spots when you hear a turkey gobble, an eagle swoops down to water level and that duck starts coming at you like a rail dragster.
