Indeed, congrats to him on the win but it’s ridiculous for anyone to expect him to tell where/what he caught it on. Has nothing to do with honesty or character and everything to do with privacy.

Very much agreed but to say cape fair area on a RC leaves a ton of privacy.  That could be anywhere from bridgeport to Pinney and thats a whole lot of water to cover with what ever color RC youd like.  That is not at all giving anything away.  It was a very General statement by a gentleman who was fishing out of the back of a boat. I dont get to fish enough to worry about it too much but Congrats to that man.  It was a fairly tough weekend and I got lucky enough to cash 2 checks and I was no where near Cape Fair. Lol I considered myself pretty lucky with that many entrants this year.  Congrats to all.

Wouldn’t matter if he dropped a pin on a map of the exact location people would still call him a liar. Welcome to today’s America.

The guy just won a brand new boat, Im sure he could care less about if people knew where and what it was caught on.

Thats my thought. Very doubtful hes fishing another tourney anytime soon. Even if he did, as Targa stated, that alot of water, on a bait probably 50% of the other anglers were tossing also.

What gets me about people, is who gives a rats butt what he caught it on. Its not like you can control a fish biting YOUR lure. How many times have you been in a boat with someone that was catching fish, using the same bait you were, and you struggled? Happens often.

Fishing is fishing. I threw a red rock crawler probably 100 times and got zero in 2 days. But I did cash a check last hour on a flying lure head with a Banjo minnow on it...

congrats to the winner and a great tournament! Will be back next year for sure

Yes definitely Congrats to the winner, he did seem like a great guy. My son and I met him at the weigh in as he was bringing that hog in, and again as we pulled into the dock for the final weigh in on sunday.  He was definitely pacing back and forth on the deck of his boat, and i don't blame him, I would be too!  He was more than happy to show everyone there what he used, we didn't even ask him and he said "here is what i caught it on".  That is a once in a lifetime deal for most people, and he seemed like the kind of guy that you would be happy that won it.                        We threw mostly Under spins, spinners and rock crawlers all weekend with an occasional A Rig, and only boated 3 fish, but one of them my son caught was enough to get a first place check with a rock crawler so we are very happy with the overall results of the weekend. Not only that, but i got to spend a great 2 days fishing with my son! :)  We had a blast, and they do run a very class act tournament!  Will definitely be back next year.

Tackle stores all over Southwest MO have probably already been cleared out of their crawler supply. Not sure if it's related to this but tackle warehouse is OOS on red crawlers too. OMG mass hysteria!

But seriously, congrats to the winner, I don't see an issue with him giving up his secret bait. They are probably biting something else now anyway
