Maybe im just clueless on their actual rules. When you take a photo there is a lot of data that is stamped. Date/Time/Location. That data is very difficult to fudge, especially out on the water.
Members pantera2 Posted April 9, 2018 Members Posted April 9, 2018 This is a bogus post IMO, a big part of tournament fishing is the suspense of weigh in. Constantly questioning what you've got, weighing them in at the stage, heck getting to open the live well and check on them. Tournaments have been conducted this way for eons and it hasn't seemed to effect the fishing. For the most part there is a very small percentage of lost fish during these traditional weigh in's, even in the heat of summer. Now for comparing larger team trail tournaments to kayak tournaments? That's about like comparing squirrel hunting to elk hunting Hunter91 and tho1mas 2

Why is it okay for this to happen in a tournament but when a guy takes a limit home to enjoy tournament guys lose their freaking mind? 1 hour ago, pantera2 said: Now for comparing larger team trail tournaments to kayak tournaments? That's about like comparing squirrel hunting to elk hunting I know. Shooting squirrels takes a lot more skill. And you obviously haven't been paying attention to kayak tournaments. evilcatfish, vernon, MoCarp and 4 others 7

fishinwrench Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 If the number of fish constantly being relocated from their familiar living space at this time, doesn't negatively effect anything, then at what point would it ? At what point DO you finally decide that "Hey, this is excessive and needs to be regulated down to a more reasonable level" ???? That point IMO has already passed. If 74 tournaments per month is ok, then why not 140, or 280 ? That be ok too? tjm, snagged in outlet 3, vernon and 3 others 6

You're the first person to openly agree with that so far. I typed a long and polite/reasonable letter, that included that question, and sent it to 3 different MDC folks, and got NO REPLY WHATSOEVER. I could have asked about anything else and gotten a reply within 2 days. ANYTHING! We can talk about dandelions, freckled farting frogs, or barnyard butcher bats, and gotten immediate response. But we can't discuss possible negatives of excessive tournament fishing. BilletHead, Ellros, tjm and 2 others 4 1
snagged in outlet 3 Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 I've stated that before in previous threads on this subject. THERE IS ABSOLUTLEY NO WAY TO DEFEND THIS PRACTICE. NO WAY! tjm and vernon 2
