Off Topic Christmas Spending

Just finished up outside of buying my wife an oil change for her car which is her big present.

Lady at Target in the line in front of me spent $4,200.00 and change and told the cashier that several more days of this and she would have it all done.  She had twenty, $100.00 gift cards in her poke.  Cashier asked her if she was buying for business or corporate giving and she said no just friends and family.

I always get a kick out of the car commercials as you see a Lexus or a Caddy with a bow on it and one spouse giving it to the other.  Of course they are usually in their late 20's and coming out of a million dollar house.

We have turned Christmas into a competition. Not only is it about how much you do it's also about who get's it all done first. Capitalism at it's finest. 

My wife and I are not exchanging any gifts this year. Our only plans are to spend the day with our daughters and just have some fun.

I can't seem to stop my wife. She's trying her hardest to put us in the poor house and I am like her worst enemy right now.  Each year the outlay has to be bigger and more elaborate than the previous one.    

I hate "Christmas" worse than just about anything.  The whole guilt trip thing makes me just wanna bury the checkbook where she'd never find it ...and then get so drunk that I can't even communicate with anyone.

I would accept a new boat with a bow on it.....but I ain’t looking out the window waiting for it to be spotted in my driveway.

We spend money, but within reason we have it to spend, so it is a blessing all around.   These days we play the “steal from your neighbor” gift game with the larger family group every year and keep the spending with those who can afford it and a good time is had by all.

Wrench.  My wife was the same.   It took me months to pay for everything.  I battled her every year not to spend so much.  She put hours of thought and love into each persons gift.  It was her favorite holiday.   She passed away this year and I really miss fighting with her about how much she spent.  Love em for who they are while you have them.

Oh I love her like crazy, but I'm not so nieve that I don't realize that once I'm totally broke and living in a van down by the river she'll decide it's time for her to move on. 🤔

I'm only valuable to wife and children for as long as I can keep them happy.  It's a delicate balance at times.  Any man that claims otherwise is kidding himself.

I don't have a wife but i do have 3 children and 11 grandkids, so what i do is go to bank and get cash and put 10 bucks in every grand childs card and split the rest up in the kids card.....i know im a big spender right.....but it totals out to 200 bucks and im on a fixed income.

Now if oneshot was to buy my boat i would beable to give more....lol
