I say once more.  Lets fish.      With our big trucks pulling our big boats full of big batteries....  We might be the problem.

ever since I was in grade school we have jumped from one environmental apocalypse to another.

Right.  And that is why most of us over 40 are prone to roll our eyes and not take any of this serious.....even though it very well may be.

The world science brain community would do far better if it didn't share it's ongoing studies with the media until it had some solid evidence of a delimma, and a solid plan to fix it.   Then enact the changes overnight.  If there truly is something society needs to change then bygod make it happen and stop all the back & forth bickering that does nothing but waste time.    If coal fired power plants need to be shut down in order to save humanity then freakin' DO IT YESTERDAY.   We will learn to live without them again.

When an inspector determines that a project is definitely unsafe and at risk of blowing sky high....the project is halted immediately until someone figures out a way to continue SAFELY.  There's no come to Jesus meeting that lasts 10 years where everyone debates whether or not the inspector is just being paranoid.

If this human caused global warming thing is a real issue then make the necessary changes !    Who the hell are they so afraid of inconveniencing ?   We hired these scientists and pay them quite well, we provide them with whatever they need to study things..... but yet we are gonna ignore their judgement ?    That is just ignorant.  Either listen and follow instructions.....or fire them and give us our money back.

Next cold spell we have take a look at the out side temperatures in every city and large town and compare it with the temperature a few miles away; it is fairly obvious that where humans live they heat up the atmosphere, it really doesn't make any difference if they use total electric or propane, they contribute to the global warming. The global population has grown at geometric rates over the last century and the percentage of the population that can afford to heat the atmosphere has grown hugely as well. There is zero doubt that man has changed the earth's atmosphere and will continue to do so in the future.

The thing is almost all the money and effort put into a solution for this is and has been spent on making certain people richer with very little increase in knowledge or betterment of technology. The suggestion of making everyone responsible for  their own electric source is a fine one that will get no traction because the people want to be government dependents.

Wrench, most scientists are working for some entity with an agenda, and any study has a protocol that lays out what  it will prove and only examines the factors that are known to indicate the truth of the intended proof. To get a semi accurate result teams made  up of individuals from opposing camps would have to work side by side in the same room using the same materials and methods. All science is flawed, always has been, that doesn't mean that it is worse than ignorance as a basis of  setting goals.

Al you make valid points yet critters have been going extinct a very long time and man has expedited some, yet habits change and we have only studied the changes 100 or so years... we are experiencing fast changes on our watch, how fast was the changes at the end of the last ice? Spruce and birch trees associated with the far north grew in the southern USA yet they managed to move north as the ice retreated some plant species went extinct because they couldn’t compete with the species that could, we are here now watching changes and watch in detail and understanding what has been a natural process. We still see plants that without mans help would be doomed...megafauna munched and spread Osage orange and Kentucky coffee tree... locust tree thorns were a deterrent for mammoth and ground sloth alike...a Florida tree rare that survived the ice ages, stinking cedar (Torreya) was dispersed by a now extinct giant tortoise doomed unless man intervenes... what does this have to do with anything? Nature is always in a state of flux, I bet glacier run off had som kicking trout fishing...wonder just how many fish species went extinct? Some cool fish that got 100 pounds some long gone gulf salmon or char, makes you wonder how fast things adapt and evolve. What was the black bass that diverged into subspecies? Be interesting to know how fast it happened

MONKEYS? what monkeys?

I'm not sure you can determine much by that.   I can travel 1/2 mile in any direction from my house and experience a 5-10° difference on almost any day because of a cloud, the wind, or the elevation.

I can guarantee you that nobody in Gravois Mills works hard enough, or fast enough, to make a difference in the temperature.  😂

There is this one little thing getting in the way of doing things this way.

Wrench I would love to hear what you think is getting paid quite well? $15, $20, $25, $50/hr?

Unfortunately scientists are not 1 all controlling dictatorial entity.  Admittedly the world would be a better place if it were.

Also in the scientific community nobody is bickering back and forth.  They figured it out before you were born.  The back and forth bickering occurs on rural Missouri fishing forums.
