We spend thousands and thousands of dollars to catch nice trout in exotic locations and that’s okay. Some class warfare grumbling aside, no one blinks.

Someone catches a monster in our backyard, and apparently a crime has been committed. As if he(us) , and the fish, is somehow undeserving of our respect and good will.

Once again, I’d rather laugh with the sinners, than cry with the saints.

You are right JoeD. When you talk about Scotland, Patagonia, and New Zealand; Missouri and Arkansas just does not sound like an exotic place to catch trout. Yet two of the top five brown trout come from these not so exotic places. And only one from the total of the other three more exotic locations.

Well it is "fishing" and some fish are gonna die. Tell the Facebook idiots it's not like "hunting" where everything dies. 😁

That may make them happier.

They should get on the lady at the grocery store.  She killed a turkey, smoked it and thinly sliced for it me.  That’s cold blooded right there.

Hunting groups are far worse than fishing groups. God forbird somebody shoot a buck that isn't 5.5+ years old. I swear those guys would be less angry if you slept with their wives/grilfriends.

It’s more fun if you travel. Good is still fun. Lenny Kravitz rocked the house in STL tonight!  Great Performance at the Fox! Let love rule!

Mr Babler's  fish was a wonderful accomplishment and I don't begrudge him getting it certified. Too bad it didn't make it, but hey, you tried and that is great.  I will say, I wonder if triploid trout should be a different record than non-modified trout, but not losing any sleep over it.  With 2 state records in one summer and triploids being stocked, prepare for a world record in the future and congrats in advance for whoever catches it.  May come over this winter to try and catch one.

I've found that most people that are offended by something, have little understanding of the situation they are offended about.

I say congratulations Bill. Enjoy the rarity of holding a state record and display the mount in a place of honor.

Never say never, Joe.  I'd love to take you fishing down here sometime.

How has traffic on Taney picked up after Bill caught this fish?

One day, I had that 500 yard slot to myself.  Bill comes down and lands a monster, very next weekend there were 25 boats in that slot.  It has slowed quite a bit now though. Kinda back to normal.
