Flysmallie Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 I was in a shop one night way up under a pickup replacing cab mounts and one of those baby carrying spiders approached me except I didn't know they were babies. . I am freaked out by spiders. They are good at a distance but I don't want them all up on me. Like I said I'm under a truck and there wasn't much room under there. I grabbed a tool and tried to flick that ugly thing away from me and that's when the babies poured off of her. It was like a liquid running off her back. I'm really surprised that I didn't hurt myself getting out from under there. Quillback, snagged in outlet 3, LD Fisher and 2 others 1 3 1
Quillback Posted October 17, 2019 Author Posted October 17, 2019 I have to admit that if I was on the ground, under a truck and one of those things came after ,me, I'd be a little freaked out too. It was a big spider.

Johnsfolly Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 I lightened up Ham's picture from Texas. Looked to be one of the big fishing spiders. Quillback 1

sfiser Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 my sister found one of those wolf spiders in our yard when i was about 7 or so, trapped it, and kept it as pet. She's a biologist now so she was real big into critters back then and convinced my mom to let her keep it. My mom did consult someone we know who is familiar with spiders and that person gave the ok once they saw it and said it was pretty harmless. My sister used to handle it and let it crawl on her hand and arm and a few weeks later it bit her..... well it didn't do much damage other than a little puffy spot but after that mom made her let that spider go and that was the last of the spiders in our house. Freaked me out but my sister loved that stuff, she has salamanders, gerbils, lizards, all kinds of stuff as a kid. Daryk Campbell Sr 1
