When you send your kid (and all your hard earned dollars along with them) To certain colleges/universities, you’re taking a huge risk. When they major in something other than the sciences or engineering you’re even more at risk. It’s a self evident truth that they will hear pretty soon after they arrive ....“Everything your parents taught you was bull” speech. OK, fine and dandy, but when a dissenting view pops up they are now shutting you down. Yes, free speech ain’t what it used to be. So “Peace, love and goodwill towards men, as @bfishn says is a great goal to shoot for, it’s getting harder and harder to achieve.

I disagree but regardless they should have to look farther than the tax payer funded public education system to find it.

And I watch Fox News but certainly do not hold it as gospel.

90% of todays media is controlled by five major corporations and Fox is no exception.

They are, however, the only major news outlet that is not anti Trump all day every day.

Fair and honest journalism is dead.

I have long since adopted the stance that anything I see in TV, or internet, or read in a paper is bogus and slanted.  Who it is slanted to or against depends on who write it.  Hell I don't even trust what I say anymore.

Even the journalist's that try hard to deliver straight info find it impossible.  The fact is that unless you were there to see/hear it all go down from start to finish, and are in touch with what goes on behind the curtains.....then you're clueless.  

Hell I can't even give you a truly accurate accounting of the things that go on right here in my house. The middle kid woke up all pissed off about something this morning and nobody has a clue why.   The world will never know.

I think it's great though that people are realizing, and almost expecting, a healthy dose of BS in everything they are taught/told these days.  It shows that there is hope.

The knowledge that even teachers, doctors, clergymen, and people of utmost authority will lie to you, both knowingly and unknowingly, is a valuable arrow to have in your quiver. 

They'll lie even when the truth would benefit them better.
