Tips for Loctite (including the gel)...

Work quickly. Get the lid off, and back on ASAP.

If you're using a wire guard bait, run the guard down the nozzle. Help keep it open.

As soon as you start to see that congealed looking goop at the tip, break it off with pliers, and run something down the nozzle. Wire guard, old spinnerbait wire, whatever. If that goop sets up, it kills the bottle.

Don't over squeeze. That can cause the glue to run down the outside of the nozzle. Bad juju. It's like brylcreem, a little dab will do ya'.

I'll go through about 5-8 bottles on a two and a half week trip. And we run it on almost everything plastic, plus braid knots. Spinnerbait trailers are about the only thing we don't glue. Even use it on mojo and Carolina rigs to keep the bait on the hook bend.

Ive had the same loctite Gel in my boat for a year. All i do is set it upright in a cup holder when im done using it, Then by the end of the day i throw it back down in a box. I never have the problem with the tip getting glue up

You must have the luck of a future Lotto winner!

I've tried everything I can think of including keeping the bottle upright and it just don't seem to matter.

Every spring I buy twelve (count 'em - twelve) bottles of the Loctite and seldom make it to the end of year without having to buy more!

I don't have much experience with the Gorilla stuff yet but I just checked and the one bottle that I bought last year is still good so it may be a serious contender!

Of course, I've only used the brush applicator thingy and not the nozzle so that's probably a big reason why.

I always put an old hand towel down on the carpet before I glue anything and that's kept the stuff off the boat but by the end of the week I can stand the towel up in the corner!

I keep 2 bottles of Super Glue gel in the boat at all times.  One is an unopened backup in the glove box while the other rides in a cup holder beside one of the consoles.  I use it for all plastics which contact a jig head.

The bottle in the cup holder stays there and has never blown out of the boat on the lake or on the road.

Confidence in a particular bait is paramount, I hAve a particular walleye jig that I caught wallys on the very first time I tried it, and many times since, it is not a good looking, or colored as nice, nor does it having the swimming action things like a keitech does, I have even offered a few to guys when fishing, a couple looked at them and passed, lol, but if I am walleye fishing and to a lesser extent white bass fishing I will have one tied on one of my rods, if no other reason than to make me felt better.  I usually start off super gluing plastic bodies on, but after gluing my stupid finger a few times I usually end up quitting with the glue for the day.  Crappie fishing I have some screw log jig heads hold soft Bobby garlands very well also.

I can dig it, me, I'm done with the liquid stuff myself, seems I'm always getting it on my fingers or I set a bait down that I've just glued and it leaks and glues itself to whatever I laid it on.

My complaint with the gel is that there isn't much of it in those little bottles.

On the loctite gel, if you buy this kind Loctite Ultra Gel Control Super Glue, 0.14 Ounce (4-Gram) Bottlewhen you think you out, pull the bottom off of the container . Unscrew the nozzle, and you can twist the tube of glue out of the container and you will find you still have a half of tube left.

If you're buying superglue for the boat (or anywhere else for that matter) you'd better get more like four or five bottles as that stuff can dry up and become worthless faster than most of my favorite fishin' spots.

I always have at least six of 'em in the boat but then I'm a little on the sloppy side.

The only thing worse than not having superglue is thinking that you do but you don't cause the dang thing dried up.

The Gorilla Glue version is pretty good too and I like the little brush applicator thingy (technical term) that comes with it.

But again, don't get just one!

Agreed in full. They should come a dozen to the box, like Pro V1's. 😆😂

Went to the Loctite bottles years ago, because I was using the tubes on grubs. Had a tube blow up in the pocket of a fish shirt. Good times.

I had the top blow off of one last summer and shot super glue up my leg wearing shorts.  It was a very uncomfortable thing to happen and the permanent stain on that pair of shorts gets a ton of off color comments now.
