laker67 Posted August 28, 2020 Posted August 28, 2020 A 34 inch long by 23 inch around brown was caught at taney today. Weight was 24lb and fly rod caught using a #16 scud. Gotta love those scuds for big trout. snagged in outlet 3, MoCarp, Johnsfolly and 7 others 10

laker67 Posted August 29, 2020 Author Posted August 29, 2020 They had a picture on fly fish taneycomo but the conversation got ugly and they pulled it.. It is so unfortunate that other anglers have to hate and criticize someone for keeping a trout. Good grief, missouri is not a trophy destination, it is a put and take fishery. Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted August 29, 2020 Root Admin Posted August 29, 2020 With the O2 levels dipping this time of year, it may not survive a fight. Depends... if it was a short fight and stayed close to the outlet - may be. I've been getting anywhere from 4.7 to 6.5 ppm which isn't terrible. But I haven't been up close to the dam with the water off this year and taken any samples. trythisonemv and laker67 2

The fish we caught were hot and showed no signs of wear and tear after the battle. nomolites, snagged in outlet 3, JestersHK and 1 other 4
Members Mbrown2858 Posted August 29, 2020 Members Posted August 29, 2020 Here’s a photo that was on the Facebook page before it was pulled. FYI it’s not my photo, just passing it along. Greasy B, FishnDave, BilletHead and 7 others 8 2
Travis Swift Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 The guy said he tried to revive it for 2 hours and the hatchery staff even came and took it up to their tanks to try and revive it. Interesting also another guy commented that his buddy caught the same fish two days prior as well. dpitt, snagged in outlet 3, BilletHead and 2 others 4 1

A real good possibility that this fish is 11 or 12 years old. The stress may have been more than the fish could handle. Life expectancy is about 13 years for this strain as best as I can recall. The fish appears to already be losing some of it's color in the photo. BilletHead, snagged in outlet 3, MickinMO and 1 other 2 2
