@ColdWaterFshrAre there mask mandates or distance requirements in these places? We've got mandates pretty much everywhere and I very rarely see somebody without a mask. Distance rules in restaurants too, but it's all over the board depending on where you are.

It's tough, obviously. Every state, county, city and school district has had to figure this out on their own. Every parent of a school-aged child has had to figure things out. Every teacher has had to adapt, learn new software, teach kids the new way, whatever. My wife and daughter are teachers and in the middle of all this. Every business has had to adapt.

Can't complain about my situation though. The historically low interest rates have meant record levels of loan originations for  the bank. Our stock is up 37% for the year. We set an earnings record last quarter. We can't hire people and train them fast enough.

Favazza's is within St Louis City limits and their restrictions on capacity aren't as strict for some reason as St Louis County has.  Anne Gunn's is in the county though and should have a 25% capacity limit that has been put in place by the county executive directive.

A coworker (mid 50s) got it several months ago, spent two weeks in the hospital, part of that time on a ventilator. At this point he has difficulty walking from one end of his house to the other, its likely he be permanently disabled.
A friend (mid 30s) also got it back in the spring time. He felt horrible, tested positive. The nurse told him they could not admit him to the hospital unless “he is ready to die” (a paraphrased quote). A couple of days later he felt like we was ready to die, he was admitted, spent one day in a ventilator and went home. He is fully recovered.
What you and I think doesn’t matter, in time history will judge us. I doubt we will fare well.

His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974

Yes -- I guess there is.  But its wildly inconsistent and loosely enforced.

That's what's tough about this -- it affects different people in different ways. Like I said above -- we're still learning.

Still learning yes . . . . . but the last thing that should've been done is to sweep this under the carpet, as stated in the taped Woodward interview clear back on Feb 7th . . . . and then sticking with that strategy of downplaying it when he actually knew better back then!  Criminal!  And continues to shame people for wearing masks??

I think I'll blame past leaders for not initiating some form of population control.

Somewhere along the line someone should have had the balls to say.... "Look, we are becoming too many, and if we keep up this kind of population growth there will be disease and fighting, and it won't be pretty".

Too late now.

Anyway, don't sit there and act like anything would have been different (better) if Trump had totally freaked out and announced that we were doomed.    You would have chastised him even worse for THAT.

What did Woodward have to say about Cuomo sending Covid positive NH residents back to the facilities? When they had options? When it was known that elderly patients did much worse on average with the infection than other adults ?

Last I checked, Cuomo isn't the POTUS.  Every state is dealing with its own variety of problems and challenges from this and Cuomo certainly has made some mistakes, no doubt about it.

However, if you really have been following it . . . Bunkerboy's only TRUE concern hasn't been the health and welfare of this country's citizens . . . . . his only concern has been getting re-elected.  Daily press briefings of lying.  We all knew it granted,  but the Woodward tapes are proof that he has been knowingly and intentionally lying to all of us since at least Feb 7th.   And now he isn't denying he said those things,  and with a straight face he says he was worried that you might've panicked, Ham.  How thoughtful.  He was protecting you from yourself.  🤣

As for Wrench, no panic there, because Marlboro Reds have made him all but immune.🤣
