A guy at at work has the S and it’s crazy fast.  It has the same torque and acceleration rate at 60 mph as it does from a stop.  75 to over 100 in a blink is unbelievable.

Oh you can bet on it.   0 to 120 in 8 seconds will not be fast enough for some.   They'll shoot for a Sonic boom.

And I really struggle with the "green" or the true carbon footprint of EV.  Most of our electricity still comes from coal-burning power plants, right?  What are we gaining here?  I'm all about reducing emissions, sustainability, and saving the earth, but we're trading one fossil fuel for another.  

Coal fired generation is less than half of natural gas fired generation.

Only 20% of the electricity generated in the US is from coal fired plants. 
And that number is declining every year.

Nuclear and Renewable both generate more power than coal fired.

Like the greens will let us build a new Nuclear plant, much less several. Not going to happen

i didnt read all the posts but i just looked up and my 06 dodge says im getting  whopping 9.9 mpg without the boat.  screw it im still going to drive it. Cant imagine what my carbed Merc gets, but at the same time i dont care, Gas $ isnt gonna keep me off the lake
