Bill Babler Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 Don’t know how you all feel about the format, but there seems to be some blurbs coming up. With score tracker it’s pretty easy to tell who is catching and who isn’t. Pretty easy to take a boat ride around and find who is on them if your not It’s location, location, location in Florida and some folks that had 10 pounds that they found yesterday, suddenly have 60+lbs today fishing in view of the guy that caught them yesterday. I guess this has been going on a while but there were grumbling today. An easy way to fix it would be not to name the leaders but just how many pounds behind or ahead you are. They are fishing for life changing amounts of money every derby and I don’t care how many times you thank Jesus after you catch one. Are you doing the right thing or are you cheating under the table. Hard to prove but there were some growlings today. Carl W, merc1997 Bo, Mitch f and 2 others 4 1 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
snagged in outlet 3 Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 One thing I’ve seen on there is how many of them fish the takeoff area and do well on I assume retreads. And they fish over the same areas where they catch fish. Sometimes over and over.
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 I just wish they would catch weigh and release there best 5 over 4 days and make it easier to follow. I feel like i have to really do my homework to keep up with whats going on with all the off days and what not dan hufferd 1
Bill Babler Posted May 25, 2021 Author Posted May 25, 2021 Really this deal is a total gravy train for these guys, they are getting paid at most of these events win or lose. The advertisers love this format as they have their products in front of us for 6 days and the fishermen are pumping products constantly. I love that they release the fish immediately but they need to do some more tweaking and clean this up a little more. big c 1 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
fishinwrench Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 If your concern is that they are catching and scoring the same fish multiple times, I seriously doubt that. I have released a fish and then caught it again a couple times in the past with 12-13" dinks, but doing it intentionally would be really REALLY hard to do....and is certainly not done on purpose. Other than that, I can't imagine what all the pissing and moaning is about. The MLF format is way better for the resource than hauling fish around all day and physically culling. skeeter, 3DHUSKER, eyedabassman and 4 others 6 1

Don't they fish a completely separate area during each day? That's the way they did it here on LO.

I’m not talking about catching the same fish repeatedly, impossible. Also not talking about Group A vs Group B. The problems are occurring within each group in a two day format. Example. Hypothetically. Fishinwrench has just caught another fish pushing his daily total to 25 pounds, he is fishing Rainey Creek. I’m fishing Proctor Creek and catching Squat so I go look around. I drive in Rainey and there is Wrench the Group leader with 25 lbs. Where do I go the next day my group fishes, you guessed it Rainey Creek. big c, abkeenan and bobby b. 3 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

When Kevin Short was leading the MLF by a bunch here within a mile of my house we kept an eye on them....and NOBODY encroached on him at all. Watson was nearby but kept a respectable distance. Takahiro did it again in a separate MLF derby here, slightly different pattern but same general area. Again, he had it all to himself all day long. dtrs5kprs 1
Quillback Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 This being a BPT event, as far as I know they aren't restricted to certain areas of the lake as they are in MLF. Something else about knowing the results and having to finish in the top 20 or 10, depending on the round, is that if you're way our in front and you're going to make the cut, you can stop fishing and go scout around for the next day. Heck, I suppose you could go hover around one of the other guys and get in their head. I like the different format, it brings into play some different strategy than what you see at the Big 5 type events. dtrs5kprs and fishinwrench 2
tjm Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 I'd never know these things even happened if y'all didn't talk about them. Do you follow them on the internet or are the contests televised? dtrs5kprs 1
