I have been bitten on the job selling my product 3 times this last year.  None broke the skin.  One was a cur, one of 5 that overpowered the little gal that opened the door, the shepard, pyronees, labs, and this one mix cur.  It lunged and I deflected with my arm.  It cost her an extra grand in my product.

Next was a friend of the owner, little poodle, nabbed my ankle when I was going to car to get her a brochure.  She told the dog, "bad doggy, tell him your're sorry..

Another lap dog nailed me in the calf, but did not break skin.  Owner got mad when the steel toe boot connected and made it limp.

The guy with the heeler that kept nipping at my heels was a pain, but I made good money off him.

3 pit bulls, customers got mad when I was very rude and asked them to put them up in the house when they were agressive to me.  Called the office and bitched, my boss asked me why I did not shoot them.

Too many people that do not know how to own animals is the problem.

Oh man this story hits home.  So sorry to hear what happened Bobby dang it man.

Any aggressive dog that comes into our yard is immediately put down.  We have written permission from the county sheriff's department to do so.

I've been bitten twice , once in the hand ,and another time  in the calf muscle, not life threatening but bloody,  and sore, I have a 3 legged cat now and paid a $740 vet bill thanks to a pair of  pitbulls owned by some tweakers. Another time a German Shepherd grabbed me. Both times they snuck up from behind while I  gardening.

I've never seen a deputy ask the owners for shot papers , or even inform me of what steps I needed to take health department wise after being bitten. The law here at that time was a joke.  If they come back on your land just shootem . Is what they said. Haven't seen any pit bulls around since.

Where I live in the sticks they just tell ya to kill the dogs to fix the problem. I am against doing that , it sucks , but when the people who are hired to protect and serve tell us to handle it ,there's no other option really. It's not like you want to go to the crack house and say hey  can you do something about your dogs lol.Because the people who own these mean dogs and let them run are always scumbag white trash anyway and the deputies here don't want to deal with those people ,so they just tell us to take care of mean dogs by ourselves.. We don't have any city animal control either so , Sig Sauer gets the job done.

This makes a very strong case for fishing over gardening. Dogs can't sneak up on you very well when you are out in your boat. Golf will suffice as a second option, as you can probably dispatch any attacking dog with a 7-iron or run it over with the cart.

But since you do garden, can I have some okra next summer, please? 😆😂

I hope this biting incident is not connected to the recent attack that the Media reported happened in Reeds Spring where several people were bitten by dogs and the one Woman had to be airlifted to a Springfield Hospital due to the severity of her injuries.   Southern Stone County Fire Protection District responds to dog attack on Thanksgiving (ky3.com)

Earlier this week there were several reports on the TRL Facebook Group from over in the Shell Knob area about a pack of at least 30 dogs running loose and several people off Y highway around or near Cape Fair chimed in with reports of another large group of dogs running loose around that area.  Sounds like it's time to start thinning them out !

Okra? How did you know I absolutely hate that stuff!

I've tried it 3 different ways and just can't eat it.

I tried to get on the golf team when I was in high school. Being the only lefty nobody could teach me so that never happened.

Okra comes from the store. Texas Hot Okra Pickles is all you need to know. Some use it fresh in gumbo as a thickener, but it is not to be combined with file powder. Fried is good for about a minute after it leaves the fryer, but it’s usually served as a lukewarm slimy mess. Jambalaya is another good use.

I like mine pan-fried to a crisp. With just a light coating of cornmeal. Not a big fan of the heavy batter that many folks use when frying.

I had situation walking my golden retriever and some kid was walking a pit on the other side of our subdivision. As soon as that thing saw my golden he pulled loose from the kid and it was on.

I kicked and punched the dog but couldn't get him to let go so I pulled my pistol and tried to shoot the darn thing but the kid who was walking it was trying to pull it off and I just couldn't get a safe shot so I pistol whipped the crap out of it, that worked.

Anyway,  I went in a ambulance and my golden went to animal emergency. I had to wait out the 10 days  to see if it had rabies.

. The owner paid our bills .

This was in St. Louis county but the Police that responded told me I had every right to shoot it since your dog is your property and you can lawfully defend it.

If the owner or the Sheriff won't help you I'd put a end to that dog if you get a chance before it attacks a kid .

We were on the Katy trail riding bikes on Xmas and went past this lady with a dog.  When that dog saw my wife it lunged, growling and snarling trying to get my wife.  The lady holding it barely held on as it drug her probably 6-8 feet.  It was a pit bull.  She had no control of that dog whatsoever.  I don't understand what someone sees in a dog like that.

I don't either, but they are the breed of choice in nearly every small town.    🙄

I'm sure they CAN BE fine pets, as long as you are responsible enough to keep them away from everyone else, their children, and their dogs.   Even the sweetest of pitbulls don't play well at all with other dogs.
