Between all the spitting and junk tugging and the announcers with diarrhea of the mouth it's just too much. I prefer watching High School and College baseball to MLB. Get to see people I actually know which increases my enjoyment. JestersHK 1
JestersHK Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 I quit NFL right before they started they're kneeling crap and that and all the other shenanigans just hammered it home for me. Wife wanted to watch halftime for nostalgia and she's old school north county girl, and I semi watched it but it was just meh for me. I heard the flyover was supposed to be awesome and they showed like a 2 second clip of the planes... Despite news sources saying all players stood for the anthem they're were a few Rams who decided to keep up the disgraceful classless disrespect to our flag and kneel. They weren't shown on TV but if you watched close in the full screen shots you can see them. So all in all I only wasted around 30mins of my day. snagged in outlet 3, Johnsfolly and Maverickpro201 2 1

This was a few years ago, but the last Cardinal game we went too was so long that even my dad decided that we should leave after the 7th inning 😉

They brought the crap into the sports not I. My life's better not supporting or watching it anymore, although I know it's hard for some folks to give up their sports. Gives me more time to fish though, and Sundays are much better spent with family. I'm sure they'll miss me as a fan... snagged in outlet 3, Maverickpro201 and Johnsfolly 1 1 1
ColdWaterFshr Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 It was a boring game. Was only able to watch half-time and the 2nd half. Glad that was all I had to endure. Its a struggle to sit through 4 hours of over-hyped nonsense when you realize only 1 hour of that is the actual game. Like baseball, they need to trim down to 2.5 hours, but we know that will never happen. Half-time show was mediocre. Mary J Blige was awful, and shouldn't be wearing those kind of outfits anymore. Eminem was bad. Snoop always cracks me up, so he saved the whole production. Watched some of the post-game show. When Chris Matthews declared that the final drive of the Rams was one of "the best in Super Bowl history", I almost threw up. And then when Kroenke came out, I really did throw up. Now I'm thinking the whole thing was rigged so that Kroenke and the NFL could re-coup some of the $790 million he has to pay to St. Louis. The pringles can, stuck on the hand, was the only mildly funny ad that caught my attention. snagged in outlet 3 1
Gavin Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 Boring game, but we had fun in the kitchen frying corn dogs and chicken wings. My daughters thought MJB looked like a past her prime hooker, and Eminem appeared to be lip syncing. It was over at 9 so that was a plus, we should thank the referee's for putting a quick end to that suffering. snagged in outlet 3, Smalliebigs and ColdWaterFshr 3

I really try to ingore the crap going on with football since I love the game. It was a big bond between myself and my dad. Game against KC - the last football game with my dad. Superbowl XLIII I still enjoy hockey and open wheel racing (not really NASCAR). Terrierman, Gavin, Seth and 3 others 6

ness Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 I clearly don't fit the target audience anymore. God Bless America and the Anthem were both good, but not great. The Rock's thing before the game was just stupid. I was waiting for someone to jump into the ring and smash a chair over his head. Didn't really care about the outcome, but kinda hoped Burrow would do it. Also would have preferred to see Kroenke lose, but I guess I'm happy for Stafford. The last hip-hop/rap song I cared for at all was Rapper's Delight. That's a genre that I dislike and have no desire to explore. The crotch grabbing, hip thrusting, booty shaking and all that just comes across as silly. My music taste has evolved over time to include Country, Blue Grass, Blues and some classical, so it's not that I'm just a fuddy duddy. I found myself Googling for a list of past half time shows and longing for folks like Petty, McCartney, The Who, Prince or even a marching band. Game was dull. I didn't see a lot of the ads, but Tommy Lee Jones and his, 'Whoever you are' did crack me up. I have never really cared for Collinsworth. Never seems to add much to the conversation. We were at my brother's and much enjoyed the company and food. But, everybody in his garage/man cave was either smoking cigarettes or cigars except the missus and I. If the crowd had started the food earlier, we would have left at half time but we ended up leaving early in the 3rd. We got home, stripped down and... ... threw all our clothes in the laundry and took showers Terrierman, Johnsfolly, ColdWaterFshr and 3 others 2 4 John
