fishinwrench Posted March 30, 2022 Posted March 30, 2022 The reason that our society is such a mess is because none of us can agree on anything. And by "anything" I mean ANYTHING ! This whole "UNITED", "FREEDOM", "DEMOCRACY" lifestyle that everyone pretends to believe in, so much that we send our kids off to fight and die for it, is yet another galactic crock of head game BS. As proof that we, as a society, will never be capable of working together for anything, just consider that a household where dad is a "republican" and mom is a "democrat" doesn't even exist. Neither does a household where mom is Catholic and dad is a Presbyterian. There's absolutely no UNITY in the world once you leave the nest. Just one big stew of aggravation and compliance under duress. snagged in outlet 3 1

Replace “journalism” with “infotainment” and spoon feed it to the public 24/7 with no punishment whatsoever for lies and you get what we now have in the US. The media (both the red team media and the blue team media) divides us for profit. Until we all wise up and start to consume less of their bullshit, we are a divided country, cheaply manipulated by foreign actors. Terrierman, bfishn, gotmuddy and 3 others 6
budman Posted March 30, 2022 Posted March 30, 2022 The production of oil/gasoline was reduced in 2020 because of the lack of travel due to covid restrictions and people trying to stay safe and protect themselves and their families. Now that almost everyone is back driving and traveling as much as before covid, prices have to go up with the higher demand and lower production. There are plenty of articles out there giving us the reason Oil companies don't want to increase production and lower the price. That would mean they would pay less dividends to their investors and higher dividends is what the big investors want. They can afford the little more they have to spend on gas. Even the countries in the middle east said they won't increase production because they like the higher prices they are getting. It is GREED that is keeping the price up. People don't want to work together because they don't want to compromise and if an idea doesn't work out for the best they can always blame the other side, also they don't want to admit that someone else might be right. By the way my wife is a registered republican and I am democrat, have been since before we were married, and we will be celebrating 43 years together this year. Don't always agree on everything but have always worked out the differences. nomolites, fishinwrench, mixermarkb and 6 others 7 2

I doubt the equipment would last that long. Or me. 😂 The only people I know that are doing it are doing it as more like a "hobby". Like buying a hotrod instead of a minivan. The Busch family has a big solar deal at their duck club/farm. My buddy said if you hunt there they insist on giving everyone a tour of it. To show it off... I'd be all for solar if it was actually economical. There were a couple new subdivisions out here offering it on their new construction homes. You might see one in the whole subdivision of 200 homes. I need to see real numbers to buy 75 year payback.

snagged in outlet 3 Posted March 30, 2022 Posted March 30, 2022 When I looked at them around 12-13 years ago a full system was close to $40k. My budget bill was about 110/mo. So that at that rate it was 30 years to beak even. Let’s see your setup. Terrierman 1

You are aware that your power company is obligated to purchase any excess the system generates, right? Payback is not a simple calculation.
