Smalliebigs Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Fished with an old friend the other day in water that was 4 feet high and still rolling at 8000 cubic feet per second. The water temps were 51 at the surface, not ideal lol We had a 5.3, a 4.1 and a 3.24, 3.3 and a 3.48 for our best 5 Smallies in an hour and half, I was back to pick my daughter from school by 2:30 lol Fortunately for me my friend really excels like nobody else in high water conditions, I was astonished we could do this well. Tight lines to all of you and let’s get the season going!!! MarkG52, dpitt, BilletHead and 13 others 15 1

I wish he would post also John, the fish he brings to hand are stuff of legendary proportions. I am trying to get over my paranoia of posting pics and having guys go right to where I just was and I’m doing much better with it. Sorry my post are very vanilla now but, I really didn’t think you guys cared for my diarrhea of the mouth in regards to my fishing trips lol Terrierman, Johnsfolly, Daryk Campbell Sr and 1 other 2 2

We do have big stripers if I can get on a boat. Hard to get them from bank. So have to live vicariously to any OAF posts 🙄 Daryk Campbell Sr, Nick Adams and mixermarkb 3

top_dollar Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 Good job catching in brown water like that! I never do well when the rivers are up like that.

Low and dirty is the worst! High water forces fish in to certain areas and really simplifies the fishing most of the time. Of course that's for smallmouth. I'm lost on largemouth when the water is high and muddy..... Daryk Campbell Sr and Johnsfolly 2

What areas and how so if you don't mind explaining? The precious few bass fishing techniques im good at excel in clear water so I struggle when it's brown.
