Love to catch em and eat em.  Caught a bunch at Lamar Lake Last weekend but all small. The bluegill were nice eaters though.

Lamar Lake. The real home town of Harry Truman.. Released some 50+ Blue/white cats in there. Some 30+ lbs flats as well. Used to be full of Bullfrogs. To be young and flexible again. Mayfly hatch is ON here in Michigan. Can't open your mouth unless you want a snack.

Fished a lot at Lamar great panfish, must be 8” there and bag limits less like 10 but could be wrong..any city employee can enforce regs….great place for a trophy panfish….btw grass carp are protected and can’t bowfish there….sadly common carp fishing sucks….redears over 2#.  Pink head squirrel tail jigs tipped with wax worms….red worms for red ears

Green Sunfish taste alot like smallmouth bass.  I used to catch them out of ponds and gut and scale them.  Head off and fry whole.

We got into some greenies at my buddies pond.  1.06lb was the biggest.  They are a blast on fly rod.   They were hitting Marty's pink clousers like a truck.

I probably caught 30 or so with half being around the 1lb mark.

Well that isn't much of an endorsement.  There a lot of fish I would rather eat then trout.  Every member of the sunfish family included, perch family, catfish family,, even true bass like white bass.  Heck even an ugly Ole carp if I get to fix it my way.

Most everything tastes the same when burned to a crisp, right?

Well that it would, but it's hard to hide the taste of trout, unless you have some spoonbill, that will make trout taste better, or maybe some taco bell offerings.
