dan hufferd Posted June 17 Posted June 17 I guess I don't look at the site enough to know what's going on?? I all look for your post and learn from them, thanks for that. It will be a shame if you stop posting.
Gumboot Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Bill...I only fish about 2x per month, yet this site is the first one I read everyday. Seeing one of your posts, first thing in the morning, is always enjoyable. I've lost a couple of friends to pickleball, they haven't pried my tennis racquet out of my hand...yet. All the best to you and Becky. nomolites, Quillback and vernon 3

People just need to go fish and stay off the internet The continuing friendship that Bill and I have could not be a more perfect illustration of what you just said, Andy. There probably aren't two more polar opposite fishermen on the planet than us two. Bill has guided forever (Well, close to it. He's like Abraham old. 😆) and you can't take guide clients anywhere near most of the places I fish ... be that flooded bushes in 3 feet of water or dock slips with 100 feet under them. I joke with Bill about a gloriously new War Eagle spinnerbait (Bill's, of course) that one of his clients used to lasso a great big weather vane on top of a dock ... in Aunts Creek, as I recall. That was years ago and the darn thing may still be up there. 😅 Pardon the ramble but nice to have some activity going. Bill and I occasionally cross paths in flooded cedars post-spawn, throwing wakers, and then again in fall (same good Fin bite then is often overlooked) and winter throwing jerk baits. I always know I'm around fish when I look up and see Bill nearby. He's just usually out in the middle of the ocean and I'm back in a creek. Not to sound like a Gen X'r but I think Andy's sage comment means this, at least with fishing styles: You do you. DavidB, Daryk Campbell Sr, Quillback and 1 other 4

Screw em, who cares what they say. Your knowledge has LITERALLY taught me how to bass fish table rock over the last 15 years. The few times I fished with you it was just INVALUABLE! We just bought a house in SK on Mill Creek and thanks to you I am able to go out in the mornings and catch fish (fishing deep of course ha!) The way I look at it is this - you have more knowledge than anyone else I know on this lake and I hate to see that knowledge for lack of a better word wasted and not shared. Regardless if you decide to post again or not, I genuinely appreciate your contributions to this forum. I hate to see one or two A-holes put a bad taste in your mouth. There's nothing worse than a keyboard warrior who thinks they fish better than you do from the couch and who always thinks they are right. I've sung your praises for years and referred several clients your way. You were always THE go-to guide on Table Rock. Thanks again! Mark Bigler Daryk Campbell Sr, grizwilson, Champ188 and 2 others 5
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted June 18 Root Admin Posted June 18 I didn't see those posts either - Bill didn't say anything to me about it. I would say now that we lost one of our first, best and long time contributor - the guys who gave Bill a hard time - my guess is that they are not contributors. And my guess is that all of them put together could not replace Bill's value to this forum - for almost 20 years now. Bill - suck it up and keep posting. Terrierman Posted June 18 Posted June 18 Never figured Bill Babler for having a thin skin. But whatever. Have fun at pickleball and remember: "Illegitimi Non Carborundum" slabseeker, snagged in outlet 3, Gumboot and 3 others 5 1

ColdWaterFshr Posted June 18 Posted June 18 Hope it wasn't my comment about helicoptering to Mt. Everest, but it appears that maybe it was. Very sorry. I've had much worse said about me and my fishing compadres. Much of it deserved!
ColdWaterFshr Posted June 18 Posted June 18 1 hour ago, Phil Lilley said: Bill - suck it up and keep posting. Exactly. Deep water fishing is a completely foreign concept to me. Sorry to slag on it and ruffle any feathers. But I don't think I ever got in to any name calling. Funny that Bill would mention it, but last summer I was up at Sturgeon Bay staying at my brother-in-laws house right on the water -- which is directly across the bay from Potawatomi State Park. Been several times. Anyway, last summer I took one of his kayaks out every morning, worked up a sweat fishing pretty hard for a couple hours, changing rigs, changing depths, retrieves, etc. Didn't catch squat. Then later, several times it happened, as I was sitting on his back patio enjoying the view, a boat would come up and the fish the exact spots and catch fish left and right. Livescope. Well good for them. I suppose its the new ante to be successful at that type of fishing. And if it makes you happy, then enjoy! I really shouldn't rip on that which I don't understand. Terrierman 1
