Ryan Miloshewski Posted August 13 Posted August 13 I have a very vehement dislike of Sedalia, so I will forever boycott the MO State Fair. I have to drive through that hellhole every time I go deer hunting. And it is just a nightmare every time. Always something to make me mad. My buddy Shags at 96.7 mad the entire city very angry when he said on air "people from Sedalia vacation in Lebanon." nomolites and snagged in outlet 3 2 “To those devoid of imagination a blank place on the map is a useless waste; to others, the most valuable part.”--Aldo Leopold
ollie Posted August 13 Posted August 13 When I was a kid my parents took us to Ozark Empire just about every year. I know they didn't go for the food or the livestock, or the music. Now that I look back on it, I can remember them signing up for anything that was free or a give a way! lol That must have been the reason we went. When I got a little older I took my kids to Tulsa for the fair several times and enjoyed it enough. snagged in outlet 3 1 "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!

I like going when the draft horses are there and watch them do the wagon hitch routines. Get a steak meal, head to beer garden to listen to whomever is playing for a while, check out the commercial building to see what everyone is peddling. And just generally walking the whole place checking everything out. I love horses and especially draft horses. John

ColdWaterFshr Posted August 13 Posted August 13 Fond memories of the Ozark Empire Fair from a very young age. Dad worked at Paul Mueller Co and their dairy tanks were always on display near the entrance. That was my first prideful memory of Dads line of work when I saw those tanks at the fair. But my mind was more on the rides, the funhouse and roller coaster and the A&W root beer in those mini jugs, and also extreme curiosity in a different type of jugs, you know the ones,,,,barely contained in the fashion of the time, tube tops. And the smells….of livestock mixed in with corn dogs and funnel cakes, and the general suspicion that hung in the air that everything was a rip-off and a hustle. ness, snagged in outlet 3 and Gavin 1 2
