Decked out in bullet proof armor all day - get real. A concealed gun is "Concealed" so "hand guns just make you look so cool" is out of the reasoning for a ccw. And I wear a life jacket. Guns are cool. I agree, i like them too. Of course i piss you off, i piss of most folks! You probably dont read that much on the site though....cuz i post quite a few fishing reports, as well as chime in on technical information where i feel i might be of some help. What about you? Ya know....there sure is a lot of sensitive feelings here on this forum, youd think it were a bunch of teenage girls discussing which boy band is better. Quit getting so offended, its the internet cheesemaster. I wear a life jacket too, and i also like cheese! See we have some things in common.
MOBass Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Take aways from the recent tragedies- Be aware of your surroundings. I try to eyeball my truck and the area as I get to the courtesy dock. I have idled back out before because I was night fishing and my rig was the only one left in the lot and there was a car with a couple guys sitting at the ramp. Were they just shooting the breeze or planning bad stuff? Don't care, I left and fished a bit more, came back and hustled up to my truck when they were gone. Hindsight, I should have called the man to check them out. Call me a coward, don't care, I like going home to my family. If someone is messing with your rig even though you may want to intervene, roll back out and call the man. Stuff, even expensive stuff is cheap compared to your life or lawyers. The stuff between the ears and good cel phone coverage go a long way. Sometimes even when you do things right though bad people decided to do bad people stuff. That is where each person has to decided for themselves the best course for their well being. Carry, don't carry, makes no mind to me. ollie, Smalls21, dtrs5kprs and 3 others 6
fishinwrench Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Maybe the best use of available resources designed to protect you is to call the law and request a cop to accompany you everytime you go somewhere. If you truly feel your life could be in danger then surely they won't refuse.
fishinwrench Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Interesting little story that kind of relates..... Last week my daughter locked her keys in her vehicle while away from home. She calls the cops in the town she was in and asks if they can help, but was told "no". She thinks awhile then calls back and tells them she is a single mom holding a child and has locked her keys in her car.... They show up in 6 minutes and immediately unlock her door. The officer mentioned something about her being a single mom and she says "Oh did I say that? I'm sorry. What I meant to say was that I pay the same taxes as a single mom holding a child". That's my kid right there! awhuber, Riverwhy, Grumpy53 and 3 others 6

Anyone reading this want my weapons (all smith and wesson and ruger s.s.) because the law is going to escort me around. Ps. I am truly glad your daughter was taken care of.

I retired from police work years ago and I can remember seeing T shirts that said, "feel safe tonight, sleep with a cop" My wife would not let me get one. lol Mike cheesemaster 1

Mitch f Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 I'm just heart sick over thinking about the poor brother that has to go through the rest of his life with this horrific memory. Poor young man. Tanderson15 Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Going home, stop to have a beer, gun in the trunk ammo in glove compartment. Also you do not shot people stealing your stuff that's what insurance is for, only to save lives. They will take your gun as evidence, but if cleared it will be returned. Always be sure of situation. i.e. You walk into a gas station and a guy is betting a guy with a bat, is it a robber beating store keeper or store keeper preventing a robbery, just be sure. cheesemaster 1

Yeah! Draw your weapon and loudly shout "Aaaaalriggght, who needs to be shot here?" And the first one to say "Him" gets it. Champ188, Tanderson15, Flysmallie and 2 others 5
