Quillback Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 I don't have a problem with bump stocks getting banned, but that isn't even close to providing any kind of solution. Not that I have any answers. tho1mas 1

Is it not possible that although it seems terrible and cruel to us, this is all part of God's plan, that maybe he is saving so many others by the elimination of a chosen few? After all he IS mysterious and there's no way that we can understand, we simply do not have the capacity to reason at that level. So many have prayed for it to stop, yet it doesn't. Therefore it must be going along just as it should. If God is real then one of two things is going on here. Either #1 He is powerless to do anything about it. Or #2 He doesn't want to. What other possible explanation is there? You are closer to the truth than you might realize Wrench. I believe were in this mess because of our moral and religious attitude. The book of Ezekiel make it as clear as anything what our moral and godless attitude is getting us. People today say God is love and he forgives us over and over again like a broken record But god is after all God. I do believe we have brought most off these problems on ourselves. wayneblevins 1

I just erased the paragraph I just wrote because nobody wins when people get into religious arguments. I'll just say that I agree that as a society we have brought some of these problems on ourselves, not as individuals no matter how moral, immoral, religious, or unreligious we are. Other than that, I disagree with you and Wrench emphatically.
fishinwrench Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 I'd like to nominate that for Post of the Year thus far. "I'm not debating this subject, but I want it on record that I emphatically disagree". On the same record I'd like it known that I wasn't initiating a religion debate, I was just pointing out the difference in the thought process possible within our society.
Terrierman Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 I know smart, responsible gun owners who enjoy hunting, or are employed in a position that self defense is potentially needed. I also know alot of dumb folks with guns. The NRA has done a total disservice to responsible gun owners by treating these two groups equally. Even worse is the NRA's completely tone deaf response to every mass shooting, especially this one. There was a time in this state that to have a concealed weapons permit, a person had to write and personally be ok'd by the county sheriff. That restriction was removed roughly ten years ago now. Those changes haven't improved our or our children's safety one whit. bfishn and grizwilson 2

I had to be approved by the St.Louis County Sheriff after they reviewed my background check. They approved me, that was 2001. I don' think you have that scrutiny anymore but, I could be wrong. I also had to get approved by the Feds on another couple of pieces and get stamps....it took almost 4 months to get done and now the Feds can come and inspect my pieces and make sure they are with me. Not a big deal but, they know I have them. None of my guns have magically come to life and shot anyone either. JestersHK and grizwilson 2
