Thats a small number on a 45000 acre lake, Heck look at all the tournement results so far this year, numbers of limits are up, weights are up. I think the lake is doing just fine.   Heck a 9lber weighed in at the big bass bash, and a 5.50 smallmouth.   The last month on here all you are reading is catching reports not fishing reports

Only the big leagues have enough money and man power to make that happen. I'm not sure you'll ever be able to make it happen on the lower level tournaments. Relying on anglers to weigh and keep track of their own fish when there are thousands of $$$ will only lead to cheating.

 

Well if it's thousands of dollars, isn't that the big leagues?  Is the Costa tourney a big league event?  And is tourney fishing saturated by cheaters to the point that a weigh, catch and release format can't work?  Kayak fishermen seem to be able to pull it off, and there's some big money in some of those kayak tourneys.

They seem to be able to program their sonar and mapping units just fine.

Kinda reminds me of my kid who can master the most complicated video game ever designed in a single evening.....but can't load a dishwasher right, or get all the conditioner rinsed out of her hair to save her soul from hell.

Yeah cheaters are going to cheat no matter what the format.  But in this case they caught the guy.  It might be easier to catch cheaters in a catch/photo/release than in a bring 5 back tourney.  

Big events like this Costa tourney, it's hard to think anyone would cheat - most of the participants are well known locally and some nationally and to get caught cheating would just ruin a persons reputation.

Well they (MDC) are either going to limit the number of tournaments allowed per month, or they (Anglers and tournament organizers) are going to change the way fishing tournaments are scored.   

I'm not gonna quit kicking off crap until they do.  I'm ramping it up real soon and making this my new hobby.  🤨 

I don't care how difficult it makes things, or who believes it can't be changed.  It is going to change.
