As far as a measurable goal.  Fish at least 1 time per month, 6 of those times in my boat. 2 times out of state. Prefer two different states.

Here's what I would like to achieve in 2020.

Catch a fish in 1 new state - I have 28 states already covered; so have to really travel to get just one more.

Catch a MD native brook trout or stripers on fly rod (BH flies)

Catch 12 Lifelist species - Including:
New lifer darter and/or sculpin

American Shad

Northern Kingfish or Black Drum

Three new sunfish sp.

Two shark species including dogfish sp.

Trips
  - White River/Norfork River - March/April
  - NJ/DE for Black Drum - May/June
  - Lake Erie - May
  - Chincoteague Island July-Sept
  - spadefish trip June-Aug
  - Flathead/Blue catfish in Potomac or Susquehanna
  - Pike or Musky trip

Good Luck buddy. Looks like a fair amount of opportunities to fish in Illinois that are pretty close to you.

My goals are simple.

Get fishing whenever and wherever I'm able.  Be it in my boat, or my buddy's boat, or from the bank.

River, lake, my front yard pond, don't matter.

If I'm able to have a fish fry or two along with it, so much the better.

i know that some guys like @laker67 and @Ham are working on their fishing goals. Hopefully everyone else is getting a chance to fish.

Near the end of March I thought that I would revisit my 2020 goals. I had a bad cold that put me out of commission for close to three weeks in Jan/Feb, but I have been able to bounce back and catch some fish lately :D!

I am questioning whether we would be able to make it out to the White/Norfork area in Mar/Apr due to COVID-19. We did do a charter in SC that was unexpected.

Caught four new species so far in 2020, which puts me at 25% of accomplishing that goal.

Little Skate from DE beach

Little Skate (2) - Indian Rvr Inlt - 11Jan20.jpg

Black Drum from South Carolina - checks off catching a black drum and is included as a new fish for the lifelist.

Dad first black drum - 08Mar20.jpg

American (white) shad in North Carolina - also checks off catching this shad and is included as a new fish.

American Shad (1) - Tar River 10Mar20.jpg

Caught a flier sunfish this last weekend which covers one new sunfish as well as a new lifelist fish.

Good luck to all of you guys!

Heading in to see the doc again in a few weeks and going to push for getting a new knee this winter.

New knee - check :D

A severe case of cabin fever has followed between 2 weeks off from work, 2 weeks more mostly working from home and now forced to work from home indefinitely. Well, at least I can walk around and get out of the house now. Really looking forward to some small creek trout fishing in the next month or two. @BilletHead you sure got the juices flowing with your pics yesterday!!

The last three years we've been up to IA to see the mother-in-law, but it's always been in March during spring break. Each time we've managed a little fishing in the Driftless Area, but I want to get up there when it's warmer and devote a few days to fishing it right. Love it up there!

Still hoping for a Driftless Area trip this summer.
