I've been playing with Livescope and Livesight since last July.  Everyone is convinced that Garmin is #1 but what I've noticed is that the Garmin units are programmed to "fill in" images.  In other words....Not everything you see on Livescope is TRULY THERE.

Livesight seems to be more true, and doesn't try to BS you into thinking that one 9" crappie (among the 15-30 others) is a 4lb. bass.    But without the programmed "fill ins" the images are often too blurry to read and interpret.

I'm holding off on laying down the dough until the technology (and hopefully the price) settles down some.

360° is useful for locating suspended fish like white bass and crappie, but unless they are stationary (holding on an object, like a NoWake bouy cable) and not just cruising.....it will drive you absolutely crazy.

Supposedly the military has even better than THAT.....but us lowly "payers of it" aren't privy enough to be trusted with it. 🙄

Before electronics good anglers imagined in their head what was under water, the lay of the land, remembering what things were lying in low water or pre impoundment...casting hoping fish were there or the ones that are could be tempted....now much of that work is done for you...even boat skills are not as nessisary....is it any wonder fishing pressure has such an impact on quality? Probably need much stricter rules....in some places you can only catch 2 fish even released as catching and releasing many fish is damaging in that situation....mishandling, or poor handling.....what the future holds is clear

Agreed.  I’m sure it appeals to some, but this is no longer sport fishing.  And isn’t much different than throwing out a huge commercial type fishing net. Might be worse.  No skill, no learned experience.   Just watch your TV and dangle a lure until a fish gets perturbed enough.

Video game fishing.  Can do that at home at 1/1000th the cost and be just as bored.

How is this any different from the multitude of examples where having lots of money lessens/negates the need for skill, experience, and due diligence? I mean, surely anyone with the big bucks must have been skilled, experienced, and diligent at some time, right?

Oh, wait a minute...

Never mind.

I can't dance like I used to.

Don't want any of that new fancy crap in my boat. That's why I keep 12 Cain poles complete with bobber on my deck. And why we are discussing advanced technology. What's the deal with toilet paper. What a waste of money. If a free hand was good enough for ogg? It's good enough for me. I'm getting a headache. Think I will go drill a hole in my head and let the evil spirits out.:dignose: lol

Luck is where preparation meets opportunity...... Or you could just flip a coin???B)
