Yeah why not kill off the other fragile grasses and shoot for a yard of nothing but Kentucky crab grass?  Then a guy can spend his time fishing instead of pampering some hard to grow variety of grass.

I'm "that neighbor".  I only now my yard.  Luckily, I have cool neighbors and they dont seem to mind.

Turns purple in late summer then browns up early.  Bugs are horrible in crabgrass too.  
Clover wouldn’t be bad.  Would help the pollinators too.

If it browns up take a tip from FL landscapers and just spray paint it green. Had a buddy in Orlando that kept wanting to put mole crickets throughout his yard to kill off the grass. He hated mowing and thought it was a waste of time.

I think some cattle operations have made that decisions he now cultivate.  Have heard nothing negative about it.
