@oneshot @oneshot 1     Been missing you man. Thinking we might have to start worrying?

Anyway I am posting a link for you. Please everyone do not make this political or racist. Oneshot made a remark about Covid coming across the border. Well folks we have another variant and it originated in Peru. It is now crossing our southern border. This is just a PSA and I am wishing the un vaccinated would get your shot even if you don't believe in it.  As I said before I have done it but since I could potentially now carry it and not know to some not vaccinated persons I am masking up in crowds again. I am thinking of others. Just got word a girl scout troop and parents made a trip South East. A bunch of youngsters are now sick in our county to go with a bunch of every age group.  Stay safe all of you. Watch your backside and others for them,

It all started with a purposely created virus from bats in China......and NOW we have strange and dangerous viruses coming from all different directions.

Fear this!     Oh wait, you're done fearing that?    Ok then fear THIS!     No more fear?    Weeell then fear THIS !

Is anyone besides me beginning to notice the pattern here?

Is it possible to back up and investigate WHY the original COVID-19 virus was created in the first place?    What was the reason for doing it, and for the U.S. to be funding it, to begin with?

Conspiracy theory's are all over the place. We hear them but what are we doing pick one and think that is the right one? Viruses mutate. They do this to survive. So wherever or however this started we may never know but it does and will continue to until we outsmart it or be smart about it and get heard immunity to eradicate it. Think Polio, smallpox and other types. It can be done but it will take all of us to do it.

I do not fear it nor did I say so Glen. I am trying to be smart about it and listen to the ones who are smarter than I am which there are many.  If I fall to it I have had a good life but I'm not going to roll the dice and see if it will happen. I see the odds and am hedging my bet on the odds.

Now to another problem. The plague is rearing it's ugly head in Western states like California. Closing land to public use because the fleas on the rodents. Deaths have occurred.  They should call out the air gun force to kill the chipmunks and ground squirrels .

As far as finding out exactly where this covid deal started ? We may never know because the communist country China will never tell. Like I said the virus will mutate and it could of been in the wet market? I have seen pictures and it isn't the most sanitary place to sell and prepare food. You all think I eat some weird stuff? Go see the varied menus of other countries. Ah that would be a no thank you to what they eat.

How do you get bubonic plague?

The bubonic plague has a frightening history, but there is little risk of it becoming a global threat, says Michael Head, PhD, a senior research fellow in Global Health at the University of Southampton. "There are a few hundred cases of plague globally each year, so the disease itself is relatively rare."

It is found mainly in Africa, Asia, and South America. Countries with the most number of cases are usually Democratic Republic of Congo, Peru, and Madagascar. There are also occasional plague cases in the western United States mostly in two areas: the Southwest four corners region and the Northwest in California and Oregon.

One reason bubonic plague is uncommon is that it is rarely transmitted between people. It's possible to pass it on through a cough, but the most common way to catch plague is through a bite from an infected flea or animal.

How does the bubonic plague affect your body?

Bubonic plague targets your lymph nodes, which are located throughout your body. They are round clusters of immune cells that fight off invading microbes.

When plague bacteria enter your system, they multiply inside the closest lymph node. This can cause swollen, painful lymph nodes, most often found in your groin, neck, or armpit. If you aren't treated for bubonic plague, the infection can spread through your whole body.

In addition to swollen lymph nodes, other symptoms of bubonic plague include:

  • Fever that comes on suddenly
  • Chills
  • Headache
  • Weakness
  • Nausea and vomiting

If you catch bubonic plague, symptoms will take between one to seven days to show up after you are exposed. Symptoms will usually worsen rapidly, which is why it's important to seek treatment immediately.

Other forms of plague

Depending on where the Y. pestis bacteria spreads in your body, you can develop two additional forms of plague:

  • Pneumonic plague occurs when Y. pestis spreads to your lungs. This condition is extremely dangerous and infected people can die within 18-24 hours of being exposed to the bacteria if they are not quickly treated with antibiotics.
  • Septicemic plague is caused by plague bacteria spreading through your bloodstream. This form of plague can cause other troubling symptoms — your skin and other tissue can turn black and die, particularly on your nose, fingers, and toes. You may also bleed out of your mouth, nose, or anus.

Treatment and prevention of the bubonic plague

To diagnose bubonic plague, your doctor will test your blood, mucus, or pus from swollen lymph nodes to look for the Y. pestis bacteria.

If you test positive for bubonic plague, "immediate treatment is essential," Head says.

"If untreated, bubonic plague has a mortality rate of around 50%," Head says. If you get treated with antibiotics, the death rate drops to about 11%.

Doctors will usually give antibiotics like streptomycin, gentamicin, doxycycline, or ciprofloxacin to treat bubonic plague. You may also need to get intravenous fluids and oxygen to help your body through the treatment process.

If you are traveling to a region with a higher plague risk, it may help to take precautions against flea bites. Wear long-sleeve shirts and pants to protect your skin and use a DEET-based bug spray to repel fleas. You should also stay away from any animals you suspect may have fleas.

I've known about the ground squirrels around Lake Tahoe having fleas carrying the plague. Must be more locals than that now.

Well first off, I'm not debating "conspiracy theories" here, or anywhere.

It has been proven beyond a shadow of doubt that Covid was brewed up ON PURPOSE.   It can't be blamed on the "unsanitary practices at the wet markets of China" anymore.   And it has also been proven beyond a shadow of doubt that a portion of our tax money's funded much of it.     In the name of "science" of course.

I would just like to know WHY?   And I'd also like to know....whose decision it was to do so.   Who gave that funding the approval that was required?

No offense to Rep. Hartzler, but there isn't any evidence is coming across the boarder. There as much in Canada as there is in the US, but they don't share a border with Mexico. We don't share a border with India, where the Delta variant started, but here we are. Here's an article from USA Today, a fairly safe and middle of the road newspaper. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/health/2021/07/21/lambda-variant-covid-identified-texas-hospital-what-know/8039406002/

I think we forget that in the past pandemics, medicine was nonexistent. I mean, in the Spanish Flu outbreak in 1919, we had aspirin. That's it. Ventilators weren't much more than a concept and prototypes until 1940. Between vaccines and antibiotics, we've been pretty good for 100 years in first world countries. Luckily, SARS 1 was only contagious in it's end stages, which is why so many hospital workers got it. Ebola was mist contagious from dealing with dead bodies, something we don't do much of here.

Plague: treatable

TB: treatable

Polio: gone for us

Measles/Mumps/Rubella: gone thanks to vaccines

Flu: vax, treatable anti-virals, but still deadly for the young, old, immune-suppressed, etc.

Polio: gone to vax

Small Pox: gone to vax

Monkey pox: still in labs and Africa (finger crossed)

Chicken Pox/Shingles: gone to vax (shingles is nasty and random, btw. Had it in my early 30s and still have nerve damage on my right shoulder blade 15 years later)

COVID will hopefully be gone to vax in the next few years.
