The first time that we went and met Pat and Marty, aka the Billetheads, my wife was talking with a friend of hers and she told them that we were going to meet a couple that John met online 😅. She then had to explain that statement a bit further as you could imagine.

Didn't know to like or laugh!  My mom with dementia is always asking who I fish with. I tell her and she says where did you meet them? I reply and she says WHAT?

I’ve been a member for I think 2 years and hardly ever post but this thread got me thinking about missing out on meeting people because I’ve been a lurker who comes to the site at least once a day and haven’t met anyone on here. I’m going to try and change that.

Good for you. Great way to meet others with similar interests (aka addictions 🤣). Then think about posting a report with photos of the fish that you caught together.

I've met and fished with several now and everybody has been great. People always ask if I'm worried about meeting randos off the internet to fish with it and I'm like "I've been talking these guys online for years so it really doesn't feel that weird." If you like fishing then chances are pretty high that we'll click.

LOL,  try telling your wife you are going to stay at one of their houses overnight.   Then she says what's his name, and you say @Ketchup .  Then have to explain that you dont know his real name, nor met him.   Or reverse that and have to tell your own wife you are letting a guy you never met stay in your house.  LOL. good times.

I have only met a handful of folks off here just by happenstance.  Jungle Jim and Timinmo are all I can think of, I'm not a very social guy though, and not too many folks around the St Louis area on here I dont think.  It sure is a great place to share stories and information though.

Countless friends made here and I enjoy meeting new friends and every once in a while a guy will approach me and say hey you're JestersHK... that still feels weird lol.

I talk or text to allot of these guys every day.  Truly grateful for the fishing buddies I've made here.

Wife still thinks I'm crazy meeting strangers in the dark to go stand in running water but nobody's pushed me in yet lol.

I'm left wondering why not.  Reminds me of a time I was catfishing in the dark and drinking with my old friend Butch.  Spring River if I remember.  I didn't push him, but he fell in.  Only to his ankles.  Head first.

What a great memory of a great friend, may he rest in peace.  We laughed about that night a lot.

Haha Daryk. Appreciate you trusting me not to lock you up in the basement, and keeping you for my slave. My home is always open for you, when you make your way back down.
