Just go fishing who needs all this crap. Beat the bank, find em trees like good old days. People spend more time these days lookin at a  screen in life instead of just enjoy the outdoors. NO ELECTRONICS OR SCREENS. Stop looking down, Head up and look around is my motto.

My motto is just have fun.  If I am not having fun I am not gonna fish that way.  I know guys who live fishing with LS, and I don't hate it, just not my thing I guess.  However I will freely admit if one of them calls me and say wanna go fishing I am gonna go because I can have fun anyway.  I would be a terrible money/tournament fisherman for a lot of reasons namely I don't have that kind of skill plus I am not willing to turn something fun into a job.

That's why I don't get too worked up over this crazy electronics deal. If I were doing something for a living then I would want the best tools money can buy if it helps me win. For those of us who are just fun fishing, it really doesn't matter if we have it or not. You can go get skunked and still have a good time if catching isn't your priority. The only time it really matters is when you're fishing a tournament for $$$. In that instance, I don't really see the point in handicapping yourself. You may as well just save your entry, go fun fishing and spend it on dinner after your done fishing for the day.

I like having FFS, but I still don't live and die by it. It's setup on a caddy so I can throw it in the boat if I think I will need it. It's not any different than me going out and throwing a topwater all day knowing I could catch way more fish on a shakey head IMO. Somedays you enjoy the challenge of doing something the hard way and sometimes you just want to go wreck em by all means necessary.

Somebody will easily come up with a device that will interrupt the signals sent out by the transducers. I pray I get to use one .

you’re probably right!

So I forsee the future as a multiple stereo type sonar approach with ultra high frequency transducers that have a more stable and accurate mounting system that won’t be related to the trolling motor. The mounts will be super repeatable or maybe permanently mounted in the hull. The location of these transducers will be mapped and calibrated by a permanent “calibration” site at a lake, or possibly a calibration service at your local boat dealership. Once calibrated they will have super accuracy and will make resolution almost like a television. Dang feesh won’t have a chance. Eventually they will be self calibrated with use  of a Garmin or Humminbird portable jointed length bar that can be assembled then stored in a compartment in your rod locker.

My 2 cents

Mylar balloons and some rocks to anchor them with, that's all you need. 👍

Of course it would be my luck that those schools of balloons would attract  schools of 6 pounders......and I'd be creating the opposite effect.

Or, MDC writes you a ticket for littering the lake.....

Has anyone found a way to increase the trout catch rate at Montauk with Livescope yet??

We all worry about the bass, what about trout?  Are they using it for them yet, don't hear anything about it.  I know they slay the crappie with them.

When sidescan came out, one of my customers accidentally located a Jeep in 22' of water near the back of Indian cr. at a power line crossing.  The "authorities" retrieved it and charged the owner a healthy sum for recovery & littering.

The question I have is:   If you graph this lake you'll locate sunken boats and sunken dock frames EVERYWHERE.  Since those things have numbers on them that are easily traceable......Why aren't those things recovered and the owners charged likewise?
