Here's their opinions and you guys can take that for what it's worth.

My nephew is a paramedic and his fiance is a nurse who handles organ transplants.  Both are still working and both have said it's business as usual.  They secured sooner if their own PPE and we worry about his fiance as she is still having to fly for transplants.  They both said it's worse than the flu but not the apocalypse they media wants you to believe.  Nephew said it's even quiet in some hospitals.

A friend of mine works dispatch and she said the calls are up, but nothing over dramatic.  Lots of people refusing 911 and refusing to go to hospital which for some of the frequent flier type hypochondriacs or druggies looking for a free ride that's a good thing.

As for my employer or hospitals are busy and we do have confirmed patients who are being treated.  Have another Co worker awaiting test results too.  We still are pushing tele medicine hard and pushing out herds of new iPads and mobile devices for remote screenings.  Still locking down our Network as we still have people poking around where they shouldn't be...

Had a good family friend from church had to go to ER yesterday.  He's 50yo, had fever and trouble breathing.  They chest x-rayed him and sent him home but he's at an empty friends house under isolation from his wife and 6 kids.

I think we're going to see some rough couple of days here for the next few weeks... That's just my opinion, and I'm basing that off the deaths that are being reported.  Even if they are 50 percent right we're in for a bumpy ride especially in densely populated areas.  

Be safe out there guys and don't touch your face.  For those with small businesses follow Phil's example and grab those loans as I believe they are first come first serve and won't last forever...

hmmmm that's not what i'm hearing from people in the hospitals like my wife and friends who work in ICU's here in St.Louis. This crap is contagious as hell and remains alive on hard surfaces for longer than most would think. I know Three cops with bad cases and a few docs with bad cases and a few nurses with really bad cases. Did you know you usually end up with permanent lung damage if you end up on a ventilator a lot of times?? I wouldn't want this crap. On the flip side we have to get  businesses going again or we're done for.

Not gonna lie I want a bra cup mask, problem you have to find the correct size donor.  And I want a leopard print one, like I will just wear my sun buff thingy, or make one from a folded bandana, although they look really hard to breath through.

I cut a couple eyeholes out of a pillow case. Got a lot of stares so may need to rethink it. 😄

Yeah I'm just repeating what they are telling me.   Even with there info its hard to gauge the seriousness of it all...

Myself and my family are taking it seriously.   I'm prepped for a while, just trying to figure out at what point do we bug out south...

Ironton Police Dept Post - We participated in the weekly State Emergency Management Agency conference call today with several other public safety entities, county commissioners, and city mayors. The following is a brief synopsis of topics covered during the call.

•750-800 participants on the call

Approximately 23,000 tests completed to date. The positive hit rate is around 8 or 9%. 90% have been negative, and there have been seven outbreaks in skilled nursing facilities.

•Outdoor recreation, Governor Parson encouraged everyone to get outdoors – hunting, hiking, fishing, running when possible, but do not congregate in groups and follow social distancing guidelines.

•The statewide order relating to how many people are allowed in a grocery store or box store. In rural areas where there is not a fire code, the Order equates to 1 person per 30 square foot (Workers and delivery drivers are exempt). Governor Parson will release those details later today. GPS tracking of cellphones shows that the number of people visiting big box stores is increasing, which is why a limit needed to be implemented.

•Discussion relating when and where to wear a mask. Dr. Williams (Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services) advised that if people are practicing social distancing, you do not need to wear a mask. If you are going to be in an area where social distancing might be an issue (Grocery store, hospital, etc.), it is recommended that you put on a mask. Dr. Williams reiterated that COVID-19 is NOT an airborne virus and advised there is misinformation from non-creditable sources circulating, and the information is just not accurate. Social distancing must be adhered to statewide.

•Police officers and fire personnel do not need to wear facemasks unless they will be in a confined spot with several people.

•Director Karsten (Director of Public Safety) stated that they have had several questions regarding travel documents. Karsten advised those documents are not needed.

•Anti-body testing has provided evidence that once a person is exposed to COVID-19, it is not likely they will get it again. Still, more testing is needed in the coming weeks. The common flu has two or three different strains, and that is why you can become ill multiple times with the common flu.

Remember, we are all in this together, practice social distancing and look out for neighbors and others that are vulnerable. Tensions are high; people are losing jobs, etc.. Wave or say something nice (Maintain a social distance, of course). In the end, we will eventually get through this, and our neighborhoods will be that much stronger.

Never figured out why people keep the GPS turned on all of the time anyway. The only time mine comes on is when I need to find something.  Turning off saves battery life.

The government needs to find better things to do than track what I do during the day.

Well the neighbor girl had all her friends over again yesterday.  Crazy!  They think this whole thing is ridiculous.  They run from their cars to the house.  Not sure why.  If it's so they aren't seen by everyone...  Well it's a cul de sac and the extra 4 cars kind of stands out.  The lady across the street is on her 5th or 6 chemo treatment from breast cancer.
