Smalliebigs Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 I went to my favorite Two creeks Saturday and Sunday. Both creeks had multiple multiple people using them in a wide range of ways. First creek had guys fishing everywhere with cameras and making some video about their adventure. They were doing a summary of the day when I pulled up hahahaha. There was four of them and they all had GoPro cameras and Two rods a piece. They were filming for the one guys youtube page. Our streams and rivers are screwed. The one guy recognized me from social media outlet of some sort and acted like he wanted my autograph or something. I just got back in my truck with tail between my legs and drove away to another creek...….confused and bewildered. The second creek also had multiple people at different bridges, which was discouraging as well. I ended up fishing another creek that I quit fishing a while back because it just seems too small and it seemed like nobody else has fished there in a wile as I saw no signs of people anywhere. To my surprise I caught several nice fish in only Two pools and thought better of fishing any further and left after catch 12 Smallies all from 14 to 17 inches, which was very nice. Driving back to town I couldn't quit thinking about all the people out on the streams......making movies no less hahahaha, oh well I hope the fishing gets really tough on all streams marcusearlt, nomolites, tho1mas and 4 others 5 2

fishinwrench Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 The movie making thing has become a very popular hobby, and alot of guys/gals are getting really good at it. I have almost a dozen channels that I follow and enjoy watching their stuff alot. Beats the hell out of watching the crap on TV (fishing shows included). I would love to do a YT channel on boat related stuff with some fishing thrown in from time to time. We have a blast here around the shop and I know alot of people would get a charge out of it....lots of laughs. But I don't have the skills or patience for setting up camera's, editing and compiling the footage into something enjoyable to watch. Terrierman, Daryk Campbell Sr and Seth 3
Greasy B Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 “drove away to another creek...….confused and bewildered” It was the right thing to do. People are strange, avoid them at all cost. Hell I watch a dude in Canada who only makes axes and chops wood, most entertaining fucker I've ever watched...…..I just feel exposing small streams to the WWW is bad, just my opinion though Greasy B and snagged in outlet 3 2

jdmidwest Posted June 30, 2020 Posted June 30, 2020 Simply posting it on F Book gets it out to all of the locals. These are challenging times, THEY are all in it together ruining what WE enjoy. tjm and snagged in outlet 3 2 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. fishinwrench Posted June 30, 2020 Posted June 30, 2020 I don't think anyone is ruining anything. The posts I've seen are all from guys that strictly C&R and pick up any trash they find along the way. You can't knock'em for wanting to share with their buddies the pics and a story about a really fun day they had. I'd much rather run into a few guys like that then to run into some grumpy old crankbait slingin' jackass that thinks your invading HIS special secret creek. Piss on that dude! Gavin Posted June 30, 2020 Posted June 30, 2020 There are not any secret spots.Never has been. If it has good fish, it will be discovered & fished by some. Put it online and naming the place is not good, but places get named all the time on the phone, round the camp fire. If you have fished with a friend for 5-10 years regular. You know all of their secret spots. fishinwrench and Deadstream 2
Seth Posted June 30, 2020 Posted June 30, 2020 I film and post a video of every tournament we fish. All of my buddies I fish against watch them and see exactly what I am doing. A lot of people are secretive about there fishing and can't understand why I would do that. My main reason is that if I could keep going to the same spot and consistently catch winning bags of fish, then I may think twice. Rarely is that the case though. It seems I have to do something different every time I fish in the summer months so I quit worrying about it. As Gavin said, there are no secret spots so timing and presentation play a big role in getting the right bites. It's always nice to hear somebody says "Man I fished that same area before you that day and didn't catch squat!". 😁 I wish my editing skills were even half as good as some these fishing channels. I'm not even close to many of them. My videos show the meat and potatoes, but they aren't nearly as pretty. It's fun to share your experiences with others too. Last weekend I caught a 4.05# largemouth on a Whopper Plopper 130 on the Gasconade in a tournament and I got all sorts of fired up once it hit the net. Being able to go back and rewatch moments like that is awesome! Daryk Campbell Sr, wily, fishinwrench and 1 other 4
