trythisonemv Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 What a giant... and not triploid. This fall will be insane on big brownies. Sad it died and sad that people attacked this lucky angler. What a shame people have become so bitter . laker67, tho1mas, Quillback and 6 others 8 1

JestersHK Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 Beautiful brown and what a great trophy. Congrats to the angler and it sounds like he did all he could to try and revive it. This fall is gonna be nuts! Johnsfolly, laker67, MNtransplant and 2 others 5

But if my daughter's birth certificate doesn't have a footprint on it that doesn't mean that she was never born. If the fish cannot successfully reproduce anyway, then what is the reason for altering their chromosomes? Is it just to make them conserve energy and grow faster? I wonder if they started doing that to humans awhile back for population control. Maybe that's why we now have all these people that can't decide if they are male/female. That might explain all the lazy millennials. They should cut a notch in their ear or something so we'll know not to bother hiring them. trythisonemv, Gavin, MarkG52 and 2 others 2 3
MoCarp Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 Proper fish handling on big fish in particular is important. He has every right to keep a fish for the wall or the dinner table...yet releasing it to keep getting bigger shares the wealth so to speak CPR works!... that being said we all have mishandled fish in our ignorance, giving people crap is rude but I bet some will learn from it...it was a great catch laker67 and Daryk Campbell Sr 2 MONKEYS? what monkeys?

My fish was just under 28lb and 12.5 years. The 34lb triploid was 6 years and the 40lber was probably 7 years. The remaining fish from those year classes have another 5 to 6 years to grow. Watch out world record from a put and take fishery. snagged in outlet 3 and trythisonemv 2
fishinwrench Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 So it actually doubles their growth rate? Wow, I had no idea. laker67 1
Gavin Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 Good for the angler, so much jealousy and hate these days. Fish died. OK with with that. Have killed a few thousand of them, released many more. snagged in outlet 3, Daryk Campbell Sr, JestersHK and 5 others 8
Devan S. Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 The comments on the FB post had me cracking up. The fly fishing crowd that is out targeting these fish in lowish water quality conditions, playing these fish for as long as possible to actually wear them down to land them on light tackle, and then chastise someone when one dies is nearly as hypocritical as it comes. laker67, Quillback, JestersHK and 3 others 6
