Quillback Posted March 20, 2022 Posted March 20, 2022 A great day to fish, a bit cold early but things warmed up and it was a nice day for mid-March. JayBill defended his title and took another plaque home with a 3.65 largemouth. Runner up was Louisiana Boy with a 2.8 largemouth. The guys reported good numbers of fish caught on Rock Crawlers, jerk baits, jigs and the Ned rig. Lots of fishermen out on the lake. Someone asked me how many of these have we done, and this was #7 with one year cancelled due to COVID. If you haven't attended one of these, come on out next year, we need some more people to help us eat all the cookies and brownies, we sure had a lot left over! Some great Jalapeno dip too. We raised $160 for CAM, that will buy quite a bit of food, thanks guys! Runner up: The winner! bfishn, vernon, Seth and 19 others 22
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 20, 2022 Root Admin Posted March 20, 2022 Congrats! Send me name and address please. The plaque was made with 100+ year old pine barn wood from SE Kansas. They don't make wood like that anymore. It even smells different. We made most of our plaques this year out of it. m&m, Johnsfolly and JestersHK 3
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 20, 2022 Root Admin Posted March 20, 2022 CAM has a new warehouse on contract here in Branson. We've been operating out of a cut up, small old school building. This place will increase our ability to move food and store more when it comes available. We've turned a lot of free food down because we didn't have the room to hold it. Hope fully we'll close on the property soon and start renovations soon. Pretty exciting! Thanks! dtrs5kprs, Johnsfolly, Quillback and 8 others 11
Quillback Posted March 20, 2022 Author Posted March 20, 2022 I noticed the appearance and grain of the wood was different this year. It makes for a very nice plaque. JestersHK and Terrierman 2
BilletHead Posted March 20, 2022 Posted March 20, 2022 Thank you Jeff for the results and pictures. Need to make it sometime. Cook something for you all. Hunter53 Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 I really want to fish these but it is just too early in the year for me. Still too good of a chance for freezing temps up here to dewinterize the boat. If there is ever one the last of April/first of May I will be there. cheesemaster 1
