Sorry to slag on it and ruffle any feathers. But I don't think I ever got in to any name calling. Funny that Bill would mention it, but last summer I was up at Sturgeon Bay staying at my brother-in-laws house right on the water -- which is directly across the bay from Potawatomi State Park. Been several times. Anyway, last summer I took one of his kayaks out every morning, worked up a sweat fishing pretty hard for a couple hours, changing rigs, changing depths, retrieves, etc. Didn't catch squat. Then later, several times it happened, as I was sitting on his back patio enjoying the view, a boat would come up and the fish the exact spots and catch fish left and right. Livescope. Well good for them. I suppose its the new ante to be successful at that type of fishing. And if it makes you happy, then enjoy! I really shouldn't rip on that which I don't understand. If its a foreign concept to you then go fish shallow, the livescopers for the most part are not after the same fish as the bank beaters. . Get with the times and buy livescope or quit b1tching. Champ doesnt use it but he doesnt get on forums and b1tch about it. You are using the internet and maybe even your phone to post this crap, livescope is way behind smart phones. My absolute only concern with Livescope is what long-term effects it may have on our crappie. I enjoy fishing for them in the cooler months, mostly on Beaver, and I'd hate to see their numbers beat down by technology that our MDC or AGFC folks weren't prepared to address. So, to those folks who are making decisions that will affect fish populations, Livescope is here to stay. And tournament fishermen probably aren't the biggest threat ... I see it being the meat-mongers who know they aren't likely to get caught over their limit of crappie (or bass, or walleye) because there aren't enough wardens out there to adequately patrol our lakes. At my age (early 60s), I'd be a total hypocrite to grouse about Livescope. I remember the first graphite rods ... they were HEAVY and hardly more sensitive than the fiberglass we were accustomed to in those days. I've watched electronics go from box flashers to in-dash flashers (like the Lowrance 1240A), then on to the liquid crystal displays. I've seen fluorocarbon line rise up from the dust, as well as one lure after another. We've even entered a day now where lures are custom made for certain techniques, including scoping. I've used all of that to my advantage, so I can't really draw the line and say all of that is OK but Livescope is over the line. If you like fishing deep, there's all kind of water out there that is good for that. If you're a bank beater like me, we just gained some additional fishing water. I still honestly believe that Livescope eventually will take some pressure off the shallow fish and I'll be just as happy as a scoper in a school of 5-pounders. If you go back and re-read Mr. B's original post, where he says about his friend and all the gear he had, and then gave it away and bought all new latest and greatest saying that . . . . "as you may guess, money is no object". Barf. Sounds like Mr. B is putting his own little asterisk (*) by his friends accomplishment, but I don't want to parse his own words. Swirling an A-rig over a concentrated nest of fish that you can see on one of your 6 state of the art video screens . . . hmmm. Yes, its a foreign concept to me. Two things to say here: (1) A thorough search of your profile shows you've hardly posted in the Table Rock forum ... if at all ... until your Mount Everest comment; (2) you were grousing about Livescope back in 2022 during a Sturgeon Bay trip. Don't you fish out of a canoe or yak? Where you gonna put Livescope anyway? By the way, don't pat yourself on the back too much for running Bill away. It wasn't you alone. Not by a longshot. Bill just finally reached his limit of putting out the best free information the internet has ever seen only to be criticized by those who couldn't catch themselves in the butt if they sat on a Super Spook with Death Trap trebles. fishinwrench
In my opinion (and we know how much weight that carries) Anyone that can't take an occasional ribbing from a group of fishing buddies without getting his/her feelings hurt...... probably shouldn't be hanging out here. I crappie fish quite a bit and used to catch them great on Table Rock up the creeks. Last year and this year the size was just way down for me, 10 shorts to 1 keeper. So I do agree I think the scope has an affect on the crappie ( and I may be part of that problem). I usually will try to catch enough to eat dinner and not pack the freezer like so many people do. I also noticed I see guides on Bull and Table Rock and they bring in limits everyday and the guide keeps his own limit too. And they are not shy about the hero pics on Facebook. If a game warden got bored and wanted to bust people for keeping to many it would be pretty easy with a few minutes of research snagged in outlet 3, Targa98, slabseeker and 1 other

Death Trap trebles . . . I need to look into getting some of those. Thanks for the pro-tip! To answer your question about my "watercraft" . . . its true, I am a man of very humble means, and by no means, King of the Road. I don't have a, what'd he call it? . . . . a brand spanking new Phoenix in the boat barn with all the latest peaky-boo glass. That sounds pretty sweet, I'll admit. All my fishing rods are +10 years old and most years I'm too lazy to even change the line. Look . . . the only way to settle this debate Livescope vs. No-scope . . . is a spirited match of Pickle-ball. I've got a torn ACL, a torn meniscus, a bad ticker, a pacemaker due for new AA's, and I'm balding. My partner, she's pretty spry though, and carries me in most games. Who's in? One nice thing I DO have besides my pretty lil partner is a $180 pickle ball paddle . . . . woooooo. Phil Lilley and SRV1990
tjm
Hurt feelings are always self inflected, only I can make me get emotional over the words of another. It doesn't matter how much I blame someone else, it's always up to me. If I pout up and leave don't any of you try to take credit for it.

We've had people pout up and leave, sometimes in a pretty dramatic manner. But they are still here. You may think you can leave, but you can't.
