JUNGLE JIM 1 Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 My main goal is to get my wife interested in fishing and the outdoors now that she is retired. We've been married 41 years and I can think of no better fishing buddy. Going to buy her a license next year so she won't have any excuse not to. Double digit hybrid striper and 3lb. crappie are my main goals for 2020. Smalliebigs, Johnsfolly, Daryk Campbell Sr and 2 others 5

I am gonna build a range at the farm with a covered bench and a berm. Weather keeps me from shooting sometimes. I am going to reload more this year too, develop some pet loads for the .300 Blk Out, 6.5 Grendel, and 5.56. Upscale the triggers from std mil spec. And, spend more time shooting. My pistol reflex is getting rusty and the eyes are not focusing on the sights like they used to... Sucks to get old, but the extra time gives you something to do. Surplus tracers are loads of fun out of a 300 BLK. I always used H110 and Nosler BTs for hunting, had some Hornady soft points and 30 carbine round nose that I loaded up for plinking. -Austin

On the crappy side: My left knee has been steadily going downhill for a long time. It went south badly in August; don't know what happened but it just got much worse. I'm at the point where I'm not doing a dang thing. Fished a little in CO in September but it hurt. Got out in my canoe on still water with ness 2.3 in October and it just hurt and was difficult to get in and out of with mostly one leg. I haven't been bird hunting this fall, for the first time in decades. May do an easy hunt at a nearby preserve though. Heading in to see the doc again in a few weeks and going to push for getting a new knee this winter. Want to get that done and get rehabbed and up to speed before summer. So, this thread isn't about ness' tough luck, it's about 2020 fishing... We've tentatively got a trip to Ireland coming in the summer...if all goes well. And, if that happens I'm gonna get me a gillie and fish for Irish trout or maybe even pike. The last three years we've been up to IA to see the mother-in-law, but it's always been in March during spring break. Each time we've managed a little fishing in the Driftless Area, but I want to get up there when it's warmer and devote a few days to fishing it right. Love it up there! It's been a few years since we did it, but @ColdWaterFshr and @Gavinand I need to get out and hit the small MO creeks for wild trout again. Those trips were a lot of fun. Yes - lets go. I'm ready. Happy NY, Ness! Miss you brother! ness 1
Seth Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 They aren't much different than last year. - Win the Masters, RAW or Elfrink trout tournament - Break 20" on brown trout - Break 15" on crappie - Meet and fish with more OAF members - Break 4#/20" on smallmouth - Get down to Taneycomo with @JestersHK for a full night of wade fishing if the water cooperates JestersHK and Johnsfolly 2
96 CHAMP Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 I just want to fish, had my index and middle finger knuckles replaced last March with poly carbon implants. Setting the hook with a spinning rod represents trouble, any quick strong resistance in those two fingers and I’ll drop whatever is in my hand but I can use a baitcaster just fine, looks like I may have to start throwing senkos with a baitcaster Johnsfolly 1
Daryk Campbell Sr Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 Kind of late to the game. I had a stellar year last year (for me). I would just like to build on that. I want to get my boat to a "finished" point. And really get the opportunity to use it. Johnsfolly 1 Money is just ink and paper, worthless until it switches hands, and worthless again until the next transaction. (me) I am the master of my unspoken words, and the slave to those that should have remained unsaid. (unknown)
