I’m okay if  people want to or not get the vaccine. Lots of hospital workers refusing it around here in Rolla area. What makes no sense is even if you have vaccine they still require you to wear mask. Even governed has said we still need to social distance and wear mask after vaccine. If they are so confident in it then why do that? I’ve had it already COVID so I’m not getting vaccine. More trust in my immune system after having it then getting the shot

do what you wish to do, but there is way too much coming out about bad outcomes for many that have taken the vaccine.  case in point, the last time that i took a flu shot, which was back in high school, i ended up in the hospital for three days.  i have not had one since, and in that many decades have had the flu twice.

there are also several studies that verify that asymptomatic people do not spread the virus.  do you actually know what is in the vaccine shots??  do you have any recourse if you have a bad outcome from the vaccine, and that would include death?  no.  the actual death count for 2020 was less than that of 2019.  no one has the flu now.  tamiflu sales were down 75% from 2019.  if you think a mask does any good, then strap one over your butt and cut one, and you will find it did not block the stink.

one thing for sure, if everyone observes the 6 ft. rule of social distancing, it will end population increase, and there would not be any need to fund planned parenthood.

I'm leery of the vaccine.  mRNA is brand new and never used before.  Not the same as the other vaccines we have.  Missouri is vaccinating people "at high risk" starting at age 65 but other states start at 75.  It's the same as everything nowadays it seems.  What or who the heck are we  to believe?  Luckily a bunch of people will have gotten it before I get a chance to decide.  Next guinea pig, please step into the vaccination booth.... 😁

Well, the Devil is in the details.

The Pfizer product has to be maintained at -80 degrees.
The vials are good for 5 days once thawed. the vials are good for 6 hours once diluted if refrigerated and only 2 hours at room temperature.

The Moderna product is much more portable ; it only has to be kept at -20 and is in pre-filled syringes. I believe the plan is for those vaccines to be used in Long Term Care facilities first. The Moderna product was a couple of weeks behind the Prizer product and I think they have had production delays.

These constraints make it difficult to transport vaccines and most facilities that get a supply of vaccine want to do vast immunization events at their faculty.

We have no control over which vaccine we get nor how much we get. We get fairly strict guidelines about how it is to be used and to ignore those guidelines would have consequences such as not getting future vaccine shipments.

First come first served would be a logistical nightmare. Please understand that groups of well intentioned intelligent people spent a bunch of time trying to work out the best way to use the limited supply to maximize benefit for everyone.

I agree that Vaccine sitting in storage is not doing anyone any Good, but it does take a while to set up the immunization event so there will be some delays between delivery to the facility and delivery to a patient.

Please try to patient a little longer and give People the benefit of the doubt. The people involved want to get people vaccinated as soon as possible and are working as hard as they can to get this done.

I agree Ham. I rib the government a lot because I get so frustrated with it, as some of us do. But logistics of this has to be a nightmare. People are learning and making changes on the fly. As for me, it is what it is. If I can improve it or fix the situation I would. If not? Just be patient and wait my turn.

Ya gotta wonder who is making sure that the temps are maintained and if it not how do you know you are getting good stuff.

We used to eat Nutrisystem - this stuff was delivered by FedEx in two days door to door and the frozen stuff was as hard as a rock when we got it.  Maybe they should be contracted to deliver it straight to the people with instructions how to administer - can't be any harder that some of the kids toys I had to put together the night before Christmas.

Bobby I don’t have to wonder who is monitoring the temperature, I know who is monitoring it. I am with help from Pfizer.

the vaccine came from Pfizer via UPS in a specially designed cold box packed with dry ice and a temperature sensor that is constantly monitored.

I am the contact person for my hospital. I can log on and see the temperature from when shipping started to real time.. I will get a email alert and a phone call if it starts to go out of range.

I replenish the dry ice every time we enter the package or at a minimum every 5 days.
I am confident the vaccine is within storage parameters.

Doesn’t it seem a little strange that people in China are pretty much back to normal and having gatherings in huge crowds and the vaccine really hasn’t been distributed? Their economy sure loves it I’m pretty sure.
