Maybe a month. I just checked and he said they are at capacity in the ICU with no beds available and are trying to get more ICU beds setup. They are now swamped with Covid patients. So I apologize for the previous misinformation. My niece is the nurse who works at KU but she's on loan to a hospital in Manhattan for January so I can't really get an update. My sister in law who works at St. Luke's has primarily been working from home since she contracted Covid. I haven't spoken to my cousin who also works at KU so I shall defer to you. Nonetheless, my point remains that no one can accept at face value what the corporate or main stream media tells them to be factual and a person absolutely must do their due diligence if they expect to be informed in any meaningful manner. The level of propaganda dispensed in this country these days is exceeded in disgrace only by the outright fabrications and lies. And the internet might be even worse if that's even possible. To anyone that depends on corporate owned media for "facts" and information I'm sorry but I can't relate or have an objective conversation with you. The days of Walter Cronkite and the evening news are and have been long gone for quite some time. So doubters are going to doubt, Chicken littles are going to say the sky is falling. We here in this household have faith and our glasses are half full instead of half empty. You are more in danger from getting hurt or dying driving to your favorite fishing spot than getting this shot. Lets talk about this. Vaccines are life savers. Lets start with Polio. This is near and dear to me. My father had polio and I seen what it had done to him. Are any others here old enough to know someone that lived and dealt with living with polio? Tetanus, The Flu (Influenza), Hepatitis B, Hepatitis A, Rubella, Hib, Measles, Whooping Cough (Pertussis), Pneumococcal Disease, Rotavirus, Mumps, Chickenpox, Diphtheria to name a few. Polio has been eradicated smallpox not listed above has been too. To those of you waiting to see if there is any side effects to this new Covid vaccine please take time to thank those people that took their shots in the past for being trailblazers so to say. Because of them you have less to worry about today. Thank the ones who now take modern vaccines because they are protecting you by not spreading things to make you sick. Just needing to vent so thanks for listening. Have a good day friends I would agree with and endorse everything you said but would only add that even the CDC has stated that if one is under the age of 65 and does not display multiple comorbidities that the chances of them dying from Covid are also equal to that of driving a car. However, they didn't specify anything about driving to a fishing spot!🙄 And I hope that all of us live to be a healthy 100 years old no matter what! rps Posted January 8, 2021 Posted January 8, 2021 Persuasive writing was the main focus of 8th grade writing in Arkansas for the last 7 or 8 years before I retired. Among the tools I taught to read and write persuasive pieces was a thing called SOAPSTONE. I used it as a way to teach the students to read critically. S = speaker O = occasion A = audience P = Purpose S = subject TONE Rigorous use of this analysis tool was difficult for them. Obviously, many we know have never heard of it or find it equally difficult. Social media is rife with content targeted at vulnerable audiences, by sketchy writers, intended with harm or other ugly purpose. Sadly, these same attributes make money, and the mainstream is tainted as well. Sorry. I will stop preaching now. Daryk Campbell Sr, vernon, nomolites and 1 other 4

One flaw to the logic of 99.5 % survive is that it isn’t a simply binary of you die or you survive. There is a wide spectrum of severity and a wide variety in length of time to recovery. Some patients are going to be “long haulers” and they might ever get back to their pre Covid health. some survive after weeks in icu. That is worth avoiding. bfishn, BilletHead, Daryk Campbell Sr and 2 others 5 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish

Wife of a guy I used to work with just got out of the ICU after spending 10 days there. Didn't ask him if she had been on a ventilator or not, but now she has to go to both speech and physical therapy. What do we have, 340,000,000 people in the US? If everyone of us got it and the mortality rate is just .5% then that works out to 1,700,000 people dead. O course I wonder about the accuracy of that 99.5% number. bfishn, Daryk Campbell Sr and Champ188 3
