97procraft Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 I was staying in the Kings River area and had my boat in a slip. Sometime Friday night someone broke into my boat and took EVERYTHING. 12 rods and reels, 2 garmin fishfinders, 2 save face masks, my BPS Pro Qualifier rain gear. All of my tackle, 3 plano boxes of weights, hooks, and jig heads, 1 box of bladed jigs, 1 box of jigs, 1 box of jerkbaits, well over 100 crankbaits and all my ned rig stuff. The crankbaits hurt the most, those I painted myself. I don't sell them, I usually give the best ones to my friends, but they take time to replace. They even took my jumper cables. I know this happens, but this hurts when it happens to you. If anyone sees some custom painted crankbaits/jerkbaits out there somewhere, I put LS under the lip of every bait I paint. Just an FYI... Stay safe. Looks like I will be crappie fishing all spring at LOZ. cheesemaster, Daryk Campbell Sr, MarkG52 and 11 others 1 13
magicwormman Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 So sad! It just shows what a broken world that we live in! There are always a few who would rather steal than work! Probably selling your gear for drug money. cheesemaster and snagged in outlet 3 2
snagged in outlet 3 Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 That sux!! I empty my boat at the end of everyday down there. It’s a total pain but I don’t trust anyone anymore. Does insurance even cover all of your tackle? magicwormman 1
Quillback Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 Sorry to hear that, I know some fishermen that live on that end of the lake and I'll ask them to keep an eye out.
willyfish Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 The last couple years I’ll grab whatever I can for 1 trip back to the truck. Usually a couple poles and my best baits for the trip. That way if they steal the rest at least I’m not shut down completely for the rest of the trip. It really is ridiculous, and I always hear they are buying drugs. What are we saying 2 110s and a rock crawler gets you an ounce of weed? If they are pawning it , these shops around these lakes gotta wake up. It’s like the catalytic converters that get stolen and sold. snagged in outlet 3 1
dtrs5kprs Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 Slips give me the heebies and the jeebies. Sorry they got you. magicwormman 1
Steve McBasser Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 Sad state of our world brother.... so sorry. magicwormman 1
MOPanfisher Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 That sucks big time. They are starting early this year.
Bill Babler Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 Actually they are running late. Could not be more sorry and I know your pain. I made the same mistake ONCE. Eagle Rock, Shell Knob, Baxter and Cape Fair are the worst on the Rock. Usually dead of winter when its cold About 15 years ago I had all my stuff stolen while having lunch at our Shell Knob lake home in the middle of the day. Boat at the dock just after a guide trip. Had another trip in the afternoon and walked up to the house about 70 yards for 45 minutes. Came down and boat was totally stripped. Lake of the Ozarks and Table Rock are two of the worst in the country. You leave it you lose it. Not if but when.
